Fish and chip places are something the wife and I like to check out all over Nova Scotia. We know good and we know bad. Vicki’s is a tiny little hole in the wall, the only down side that I could find to it really. We went in and were surprised of the size, very tiny and the seating slightly disorganized due to the size, we had to wait a few minutes while the waitress moved some tables around to make us a table as they just had a large group in before we got there. The waitress was friendly an down to earth so this easily made up for the wait. The service was otherwise friendly and fast. We had the daily special, clams, 1 piece haddock, and fries, which came with coleslaw. $ 15.95 The fries were homemade and very tasty, the clams were whole clams, nicely battered and seasoned, the fish was huge and so fresh I think it jumped from the water to the frier and onto my plate, and it’s batter very light and not greasy. The coleslaw was homemade and very tasty as well. These guys need a bigger place, with food like that I am sure they could fill it. We will definitely be back and recommend others try it too !

. Great for when you feel like greasy fish and chips and the huge Diner style pies are great but nothing to go out of your way for. The breakfast is surprisingly good. I haveto admit I wasn’t expecting them to have really good breakfast, I would be more likely to go back for breakfast rather than the fish and chips. The breakfast ham is really delicious. Great for«hang over days» ! Go here before even thinking about going to the Kingston Diner. Too bad Breakfast is only on weekends!

If you like fish & chips, these guys do it very well. Massive portions in a very casual setting. There’s nothing fancy at this place, and to be honest if I’m going to a fish & chip spot, that’s what I want to see. The service was good, and three orders were served in less than 10 minutes after order. The staff here were fantastic — very funny and down to earth. I suppose it’s what you come to expect from the smaller, mom & pop type restaurants here in Nova Scotia! The food was great. The fish was fresh, and the fries were home made. The fish wasn’t fried in a heavy batter, which I found refreshing. It flaked apart and was certainly a fair size. I ordered the special of the day, which included their battered haddock and scallops with fries. I can say that the scallops were also delicious, deep friend in the same batter as the haddock. I’m not very big on the type of fries that this type of restaurant typically serves because I feel that they’re overly saturated with oil. I had the same feeling here, but I know more people enjoy this type of fry as opposed to the ones at a fast food spot. If you’re one of these people, and you enjoy seafood, then I’m sure you would absolutely love it here. To note: This place serves only Coke, not Pepsi. But, they serve it in the way it was meant to be served: in the glass bottle. I thought this was a great touch, especially for a classic fish & chips joint.
