I had supper this evening at John Brown Richmond Street Grille. There was a jazz band playing across the street. It looked like it might rain so I sat inside rather than on the patio(it ended up not raining). Catherine, my server, brought my some nibblies. I ordered lemon salt and pepper Brown’s Baked Wings. They were good. The lemon salt and pepper were subtle. Catherine was friendly and took good care of me. I noticed that the servers were professional and kept checking on everyone.

This was a great spot. The raw oysters were delicious and the calamari very tender. We sat outside and listened to the jazz trio play. If you are looking for a great spot to eat, drink or just meet up with friends this place is for you. Friendly wait staff.

Visited John Brow’s Grille with a group of lady friends and went because the food was great on earlier occasions. This time the food was disappointing. A couple of the girls had the lobster BLT($ 19.50), the amount of lobster was miniscule to say the least, so mashed up, should have been a nice chunky pile, very little mayo and very dry. The bun was burnt also. I personally had the nachos and just because you put a big pile of chips on the plate does not make it a great meal. Needs lots more cheese. I was left with a plate of dry nachos, actually enough for a second order. Also, the salad is just a handful of bagged salad greens and it also was very dry. Salads should be made fresh, you want to see a great salad, eat at Water Prince, they know how to make a fresh salad. It costs a lot to eat out and a restaurant should always put their best product forward so people will return. We will not be returning.

I used Unilocal to confirm this was a good place before going in. It looks good from the outside, with lots of covered seating. I was seated immediately and service was prompt and friendly. I had the fish and chips. I like how they offer a half fries /half salad option and I chose a garden salad which was fresh and delicious. The fish was very lightly battered, tender inside but unfortunately a little bland. The included tartare sauce provided a nice kick. The fries were a little flabby for my taste but they were hand cut or at least looked and tasted like it. I definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Charlottetown.

Not so expensive after all. The service was a little bit slow and the dining room was not full. I taste the Seafood Chowder and it was the best Chowder that I take since i’m in PEI. The Scalops were good but they don’t fill up my expectations.

Stopped by here for dinner on their patio as it was a wonderful warm fall evening. A bit tired from the week and long days there are times in which you just feel like comfort food. On this evening was a hamburger and sweet potato fries. Serving size was huge and the burger came with aged cheddar and maple peppered bacon. Damn good would be an understatement. A few others in my group ordered the burger. We also ordered some of their sriracha wings and other less potent wings. The sriracha were zippy hot! Unhealthy meal yes… Excellent for the beat up soul after a busy work weak makes you feel great! Definitely worth a return!

This is the place we always use on Victoria Row. We like the outside which has a view and some nights music. The service is excellent — attentive and thoughtful. The food would be excellent but it’s only very good. Compared to the rest of the street it’s the place to go. If they ever get a star chef it will be Charlottetown’s best restaurant. Restaurant is wheelchair accessible.

Victoria row in Charlottetown has certainly come a long way! It is super quaint with pedestrian only traffic and often live music. And it is a favourite for foodies. John Brown is a nicely renovated place with a great patio. I decided to check out their food and was impressed. I had the Thai mussels and the kids had Chicken fingers. My mussels tasted great with a nice lemongrass broth for dipping bread. The kids enjoyed their meal and the service was really great. I enjoyed my blueberry beer-very refreshing on a hot summer day.

Went on a Saturday night for supper and some drinks. Place was packed, no seats outside on the walkway, so went in to a bench booth seating area. Live music, good service, lots of choices of drink, and fine food all made for a good time. Didn’t give it a 5 star cause we all found that the prices were unreasonably high and we all left still snacky.

Great service, food and reasonable pricing(compared to USD). Rhubarb beer was great as well as live music most nights.

Yeah, this place rocks! Stopped in just for fun with the whole family during a visit to PEI, and was SO impressed with it. Great service, great food, and great atmosphere! I was actually skeptical when we walked in, but when they said that all their food was made fresh in house, and tasted amazingly, they weren’t lying. Plus, they served one if the best spicy ceasers I have ever had. If you are around Charlottetown for a visit, I highly recommend this place. Hopefully your visit will be as pleasurable as ours was!

We had dinner on our first night in Charlottetown. Had the pulled lamb sandwich with sweet potato fries. Sandwich was excellent, the sweet potato fries were the best I have ever had. Wife raved about her meal, also. Topped off with a local nut brown ale beer, accompanied by a jazz combo playing across the street — as good as it gets. We sat just inside next to a fully opened full-sized window, as the patio was full, and it worked out excellent.

So this place is pretty epic let’s start off right there for one, they have an outside patio that is killer, they have heated lamps for you anemic muppets out there who can’t handle the wind blowing on them so relax you’re sorted in that regards. You come inside and you have a three tier level pub that’s just begging for you to pop a squat and immediately consume libations. There are a few pillars inside that Samson himself would ignore and sit his muscular bum down and enjoy a few Irish Red Garrisons with his eyes still freshly wounded. Oh and try the Carbonara Dip, holy amazballs. If sin came in this form in the Garden of Eden the bible would’ve told of people from all walks of life drizzling themselves in this dip, getting dip drunk, and doing obeisance to this dish. Order one, shoot order two I did and That is where the weeping and gnashing of my teeth have been. They have a slew of beers on tap and the food overall is absolutely fantastic. Are you a Seaman?(Stifle the giggty for one second ya freak) They have free Wifi so you can sit back, chat with your friends and fam back across the world and have a proper pint or 5, they won’t be crew prices but you won’t care to be honest. It’s roughly about a 10 min walk from the pier where we dock, YES they are open on sundays which is fantastic because the rest of Canada doesn’t seem to be! Do yourself and your liver and tastebuds a favor and come to JB’s. You’re welcome. Cheers!

So what struck me first that the place was packed for a Tuesday night, I mean line up packed. Always a good sign. Had the lobster blt, and it was full of lobster & delicious. The other people in my group had chicken, steak and also the burger was great. Definitely a must if in the area!
