New managment knows nothing about running a resturant. Terrible service. Manager was shockingly rude. After they delivered the wrong thing i called to get it sorted out and they insisted that i was wrong and refused to refund me or replace my meal. Instead they asked i bring the food back «since it was gonna go in the garbage anyway» and instead of replacing it i would still have to pay for the food and the womans delivery fee. What a bunch of crooks. They were planing on re servering my food to someone else. un real.

I have been eating at Georges since I was a kid and I have never had bad customer service until tonight. I ordered 2 combo plates and an order or sweet & sour chicken. My 2 combo plates were right but I got a s&s combo plate instead of just the s&s chicken I was wanted/​was charged for. I called to have it replaced with what I was charged for and was treated as if I did the order wrong. The woman was incredibly rude and told me I had to come in to get it switched. I told her I paid for delivery and wasn’t going to come in to switch it, I wanted someone to come back only to be snarled at and argued with. This is unacceptable customer service. I love (d) Georges but will not be ordering it again. Very disappointing.

Both waitresses were not presentable — and George’s famous fried rice was bland. Heard great things about this place but was a awful experience indeed. I liked the interior of the place. That’s about it.

Ok my 2nd time here and 2⁄2 got the other wrong. We let it go the first time we got take out and it just happened again. Instead of just apologizing and delivering the right food they made me drive back. No shame, sincerity or fcks were given. The food here is so unauthentic. The only reason I tried it again was for the dish they messed up twice. Avoid this place nothing but trash inside and out.

So taking some recommendations from Unilocal we tried this restaurant. I’m not usually one to give something a baaaad review… But… being a lover of Chinese food we were slightly disappointed in the bland taste of everything, and not a vegetable to be seen. We got the famous #18 and can’t for the life of us figure out why it’s been so highly praised. They were both breaded chicken strip dishes with colored sauces that had no flavor or spice, or substance. Hopefully it was just an off night for the restaurant but unfortunately we prob. wont return to find out. :(. On the plus side, there is A LOT of food on a plate and it was reasonably priced.

My first experience here was the home delivery when I was a kid and lived in Cambridge (Galt). Fast forward and many years (few decades) later it is still a favorite of mine and I have a hard time passing through this city and not stopping for a quick fix of the famous #18. It certainly isn’t what it use to be, cut backs and quality have changed. But it is still good or maybe it is just the memories, I’m not sure but I am still a regular. The portions are big and always left overs to take home.

After hearing about George’s for a number of years, I finally had a chance to try it. I liked the sweet and sour chicken and the bbq pork lo mein.
But like Court T. says, #18 apparently is what they are famous for.
Their chicken dishes are extremely saucy.

Gotta love George’s and #18 — that’s what they are famous for. They are a family owned restaurant and most of their sauces — if not all, are family secrets! Even the oldest of the employees don’t know the secrets.
Almost Soo Guy on a bun is my absolute favourite! The portions are huge and impossible to finish, always best to order in and have leftovers.
If you want to dine in, they have lots of tables, and you never have to wait long for your food as they are always quick.

Food served here is very Canadian-​Chinese. this is not a bad thing but may be disappointing to people looking for food that is more ethnic. It is extremely consistent and I have never had a bad meal there over the many years they have been open. Their lunch and dinner specials are great and the portion sizes are even a little bit on the too large side. (have never finished the entire meal without taking some of it home!)
