It’s The Home Vintner’s quirky, neighbourly and enjoyable staff that make this my favourite wine making store around. They always take the time to talk to me about my projects, and give me tips and tricks so I can create amazing wine and beer. I couldn’t be more than satisfied with the results. I never feel that they’re just trying to sell me a product — they just seem genuinely passionate about wine and beer making. On the product side of things — they’ve got a great selection of good quality wines and beers at a competitive prices. Last week, I went to buy a new Primary Fermenter and unfortunately they were out of stock. Instead of saying«sorry, better luck next time», they gave me one of their own to use, free of charge, so I could still get my wine on the go. Thanks guys! They seem particular, and very opinionated, about the products they cary, and while I couldn’t say that the lines they carry are better than other stores at an equivalent price point, I can say that from Cream Ale to Cab Sauv, I’ve been VERY happy with results. Home Vintner, you guys rock!

Even though I had no idea what I was doing, the staff helped me out and didn’t make me feel like an idiot haha. A few samples of wine and beer everytime I head in doesn’t hurt either. This place stocks quality products which the staff and owner use themselves to win numerous awards. They know what they’re doing and their happy to help. I haven’t been to any other homebrew stores around the city but there’s no need to with the service and products found here. I haven’t been to any of their classes but I certainly want too! If you need any supplies or expert knowledge, come here!

We went here for a beer and winemaking class from a daily deal site, and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the products at this store! The owner and speaker was entertaining and knowledgable, and provided nice cheese and chocolate pairings. The variety of products is also impressive, including ports and ice wines. All of the staff at this store are really into making these kits, and win lots of brewing/winemaking awards. So, in addition to having all of the paraphernalia, the Home Vintner also has the expertise you can call on so you don’t end up with 5 gallons of plonk. The kits here aren’t the cheapest by any means… they concentrate on sourcing quality must and wort. To me this make sense, since who really wants to master the art of making $ 6 bottles of wine that taste like $ 10 bottles of wine? The wines here tasted more like they are in the $ 30 – 40 dollar range, but will probably cost you a quarter that.
