I’ve had my hair cut by Anita and other stylist at Shear Synergy Salon, IMHO, Anita does not seem to know how to cut men’s hair, they may cut female hair ok, based on what I hear from my female friends but for men, Anita shaved my back hair so much that, Ouch ! it made me look like a little kid lol.
They have consistently under perform even If I showed them the photos (front, side and back). To be fair, I’ve tried other hair-​stylist and she still could not cut to my satisfaction. On top of that Anita has a very unprofessional attitude and racist towards her Asian customer (me). I’ve asked my friend who is not Asian and does not have thick hair and he have said the same thing to me. Very unsatisfactory cut. Don’t forget that they charge you hefty $ 35 and already included ($ 3 tips) and of course without telling you and without saying «thank you», not the honest people that I’ve met when I went to this hair salon and their customer service skill is poor. They need to polish on their customer service skill, before they are allowed to even cut customer’s hairs.

Awesome salon with really great stylists. They are experienced yet approachable and down to earth. The ladies here provide great advice and have built up a loyal customer base comprised of the young, sort-​of-​young and the old!

The first time I met Anita, I thought she is only a receptionist there, she is young and beautiful, I can’t imagine how good she is. I love how She gives a good head massage after shampooing my hair. She handles really well on typical thick bulky Asian’s hair. Where can you find such excellent hair dresser in Calgary?
PS: She is always on schedule, you won’t have to wait ;)

I had my haircut done by both Amy and Anita. They are both awesome stylists and understand my thick long hair well. I did have a picture of a style I wanted but they explained and recommended better style for my facial structure and lifestyle. Both ladies are very attentive and asked for my comment/​approval multiple times until I am satisfied. The salon is very neat and clean, conveniently located in Chinatown. I took my lunch break hour to get a haircut. I will definitely recommend Anita and Amy to my friends.

I’ve had my hair cut by Anita and Jen, and I would say my experience has been positive with both of them. Anita gives great advice and styling tips while Jen seems to understand the texture of my thick, straight hair and gave me a hair cut that worked for my low maintenance lifestyle yet was flattering to my face. My friend has also got her hair cut by the Japanese stylist, she is also very attentive and takes a lot of time to make sure the style is right, and you’ll never have to worry that you’ll go to short because she will always double make sure that is what you want. The only grip I have is that their receptionist (or whoever picks up the phone) is abrasive and off putting — especially when you are calling them to tell them you will be late, she’ll tell you that it will be difficult and that you shouldn’t be late blah blah… other than that I would recommend the stylists at this salon.

I get so happy every three months, and it has nothing to do with the changing of the seasons nor does it have to do with my need to buy new clothing. Every three months is when I get my haircut and Shear Synergy Salon is where I like to go but specifically to Anita. Lovely Anita who does the most amazing head massage while she shampoos you that makes your toes curl while sending you into a slight orbital coma onto another galaxy and into another time.
Situated in the east side of the Dragon City Mall in the heart of pulsating Chinatown, Shear Synergy Salon is the place I go to get beautified. I usually will whet my haircut time with a dim sun lunch at the Regency Restaurant and then top it off with a delicious bubble tea. Shear Synergy is so conveniently situated too, I simply have to take the number 3 bus a block from my home and I land smack dab in front of the Dragon City Mall.
My haircut lasts usually anywhere from 45 to 60 minutes for a mere 30 dollars and I believe Shear Synergy has 3 stylists to choose from, I am a loyal client however to Anita who simply understands Asian hair, when leaving other hair salons in the past I am usually very dissatisfied with my haircut simply because they don’t understand the properties of Asian hair and its temperament and I usually end up walking away looking like my uncle. But Anita does it just right, she’s hip to popular Japanese hairdos and has a knack for the animé. So if you want a stylish trim or an all out make-​over try Shear Synergy Salon.
