In my house, is a set of cutlery. In that set is a $ 500 spoon. It is made of the same stainless steel as the other spoons. It is from the same company’s factory as the other spoons. If placed in a line-up, you would not be able to differentiate this spoon. Prior to this week, it was just an ordinary Stokes spoon, minding its inanimate business, as silverware is wont to do. But spring is in the air, and as its delicate fragrance wafted through my kitchen, Spoon decided it no longer wanted to be ordinary. It wanted to break free from the pack. So it wedged itself between the blades of the kitchen sink’s garbage disposal. It wedged itself in such a manner that I could not free it with a gloved hand or pliers. Quicker Rooter to the rescue. Or so I thought. While efforts were as valiant as they were speedy(they arrived 15 minutes after I placed the phone call), they could not dislodge the Silverware Squatter from its new lodgings. The only solution was to replace the entire garbage disposal unit. Thankfully, we were not charged for this first try, even though most other plumbers in Calgary would have easily slapped us with a $ 70 bill just for showing up. We had to wait until the following morning for another garbage disposal to be available. They arrived early, and swapped out the unit in less than 20 minutes. The new unit also has a one year warranty. While not cheap, prices are on par or lower than the rest of the city, and the service was friendly and as fast as it was excellent. And that was the story of the $ 500 Spoon.

Quicker Rooter came to install a new kitchen faucet and dishwasher, and fix some valves and replace a P-trap, and as usual they did an excellent job. Very efficient, competant and a pleasure to deal with. They are honest, resonable and i would not hesitate to recommend them to family and friends.

I recently house sat for my parents while they were on vacation. The handle on the toilet broke on the inside while I was there so I was no longer able to flush. Time to fix. I called Quicker Rooter to replace the handle. The first visit was pleasant and they were polite. I was told that they would need to order the handle. Okay. It was in 2 days later. It wasn’t the same handle. Well fine then. The trainee was the one that was doing it(Alex). He said that the seal wasn’t solid under the lid and was leaking. Fine. Replace that too. He was full of it. The old one wasn’t leaking. The one he put in was. And I paid $ 60 extra for it. They’ll be back in a few days and I better get some sort of refund on it. At least there was a year warranty. Time to fix what didn’t need to be fixed.
