MVP Modern Barbers

When we first moved to Calgary, I temporarily lived around the corner from this place so I came here without doing any research because it was convenient. I lucked out because this place is awesome. This place is like a man cave, with video games, cool music, magazines, a free beer, the ladies are easy on the eyes, and oh yeah, they give a great hair cut. After moving out of Bridgeland I went to their location in Kensington and it was nowhere near as good (the stylist butchered my hair and I had to go back to Bridgeland to fix their work). I now go out of my way back to Bridgeland for my usual haircuts. My only complaint is the price is more pricey than what you’d get at a typical men’s barber shop. But you get what you pay for.

If you’ve been to the MVP Modern Barbers in Kensington, this one seems a little smaller, but the service is the same: walkin haircuts for about $ 30, TVs everywhere, hot towels, scalp massage, and a complimentary drink. Plus, they have a dog, a big bulldog named Mack.
I used to work in the same building as the Kensington MVP so I could pick a good time to walk-​in, but if you can plan a day in advance their online appointment site is handy.

Nice atmosphere and knowledgable friendly staff… they’ll offer you a beer when you come in and give you a great haircut. That’s a win win… for us… in my books! Check these guys out next time!

Love this getting my hair cut here! It’s always my go to place for a hair cut. Every time I go there is always someone new that cuts my hair but it’s always spot on. Highly recommended.

I have been going to this location for a few years for regular hair cuts. The staff are really friendly. They always offer you a drink (soda/​coffee/​etc) and are usually very close to on-​schedule. I have seen a number of stylists here and the cut is always consistent. The best part about the hair cut is the hot face towel and scalp massage, very relaxing!
It is usually no problem to fit you in same day as long as you call for an appointment. Booking online requires you to do it at least the day before.
There are TVs at every seat so you can watch whatever you like while you get your hair cut.

I went to MVP a couple years ago and finally got the chance to return today. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. My hair looks great and I felt great leaving the location after a great conversation with the friendly staff. I would definitely recommend this location to my friends and look forward to going back.

Excellent set up! With Skilled and helpful stylists I was well taken care of and the relaxing scalp massage at the end is a nice touch. They’ve set up TV’s at every station and waiting area with Xbox and updated magazines. Very nice place! I’ll definitely be back!

Shoddy service, rude staff. Save your money and go elsewhere. Overpriced for bad service.
