MAC Cosmetics

Paid my first visit to a MAC at the recommendations of many friends and received 5-​star service.
The lady who helped me, a blonde woman going by Aga, was super kind, helpful and enthusiastic and spent 40 minutes helping me pick out products, providing suggestions and helpful tips.
The store was busy so she did spend a minute here or there fielding quick questions from other customers but I didn’t mind, I wasn’t left waiting for long periods of time.
So far the quality of their products has lived up wonderfully to my friends’ reviews. I went in looking for products for my sensitive skin as drugstore products have caused me terrible itching, redness, clogged pores and allergic reactions. Not only were the products the sales lady suggested very flattering, I have had no problems with sensitivity so far. Ladies, if your only experience with makeup so far has been drugstore products then the difference will be night and day. My makeup has stayed in place all day with no smudging, itchiness or irritation! I did pay almost triple for a product as what I would at a drugstore but it’s proved to be well worth it. You get what you pay for!

My love affair with MAC started when they were but a mere kiosk in The Bay stores many years ago. They have since grown up and can be found everywhere. I tend to seek them out in this location whenever I need to replace an item. I even had them booked to do the makeup for my wedding several years ago but they messed up the booking and that is another story.
Today’s experience was exceptional and why I continue to visit this location. After an uneventful shopping morning I stopped in to pick up some items to replenish my stock and was given incredible service by one of the make up artists. I have no time for pushy or arrogant employees and easily leave a store if this happens. However this artist made me feel like her best friend (maybe she sensed I was having a rough morning). She was kind, considerate and very helpful. And she brightened up my face/​makeup giving me tips before I even realized what she was doing.
While I definitely see new faces/​employees here all the time I do appreciate that the customer service remains intact. They also keep your purchases on file and can easily access what you have bought in the past in case you forget (in my case always).

I went into the MAC pro store. My experience was quite different from the other reviewer. I can say that years ago I would buy MAC at the bay and I would always have the same horrible experience the other reviewer did.
I went into the MAC pro at market mall while doing some Xmas shopping just to look before going back to it. I was greeted by three of the girls right away. After less than a minute of looking around one of the girls asked me if she could help. I was looking for a red lipstick that would suit my face given how pale I am. She was very helpful and even got excited to redo my eye makeup for me so it suited the red lipsticks better. She listened to what I wanted and didn’t push more than that on me. In the end I left with a mini make over and new lipstick. When I walked by her store an hour later to leave she saw me and waved with a very friendly smile. Service for me was great at MAC and I felt great about myself too. I would drive there just for the same experience.

Don’t get me wrong, I like MAC. But I really dislike the MAC counter located in the Bay at Market Mall. (Again, the one in the Bay only, not the Pro store in Market Mall)
HORRIBLE services! The sales are snobby… at least every time I went there, I had bad experiences! I mean, either they just completely ignored you or when they came and PRETENDED to help, but all I got was an attitude. Last time, I waited 20 minutes to pay for my one lipstick… and NO, the two sales working that day were not busy at all. When it was my turn to pay, the sales told me she will be right back (not sure where she went) but yes, I literally waited for 20min for one lipstick. And yes, it was stupid of me to wait for her. I should’ve just left and gone to the Pro store there. Never again. I will NEVER buy at the Mac counter in the Bay at Market Mall again!!!
