Nice clean laundromat. Very friendly lady too which is a nice change from the usual laundromats. Open 7 – 11 but is not always left attended. There’s a change machine to change bills. All machines were clean and in order, another rare treat.

Decent number of machines, though several were out of order. They did have someone working on them. $ 2 for wash and $.25 per five minutes dry seem like decent prices. However, the place doesn’t feel very clean, had no power outlets available for guests to work while doing laundry, and, if you are from out of town, they don’t have WiFi for you. This just doesn’t compare well to most self-service laundromats I’ve been to, but I may have unrealistic expectations.

Great local Laundromat. I drop off laundry on a weekly basis for one of my clients and they know me by name and always have the laundry done when requested. Very reasonably priced and amazing service.

I called in first to see if they provide receipts for a reimbursement and if there was parking. The gentleman on the other line was really nice and answered in the affirmative to both. They’re located in the same parking lot at Amato Gelato. The same gentleman was at the counter when we arrived and offered change for my $ 20(in quarters and loonies) and helped us find appropriate washers for our 10 loads worth of laundry. The machines were really good and it’s true that the dryers dry in half the time(unless overloaded, of course). I am definitely going back! They have detergent available to buy, counters for folding, and a sink, if needed. They also sell chips and soft drinks. Not a ton of seating — 5 chairs. Cash only in exchange for coins. There’s free ShawGo wifi and uncovered free parking. Costs: Triple washer: $ 5 Double washer: $ 3.50 Single washer: $ 2 Dryer: $ 0.25 for 5min, $ 1 for 20min, $ 2 for 40min.

I agree with the other review. Clean, functional, and there is usually a nice man /wife combo behind the counter. When they’re not there, there is a change machine that works well(at least, it’s never been broken in the times I’ve been there). Also, due to there being close-circuit cameras onsite, I feel safe when I’m there alone which is normally very early Saturday and Sundays. They’re open at 7AM. I also feel safe leaving my laundry to go grab a cup from Timmies. Machines range from normal-size to supersize($ 5 /wash). The dryers are huge and dry your clothes in half the time($ 0.25 for 5 minutes). I have a washer /dryer at home, but this is my go-to place for blankets or when company comes and I have lots of sheets to clean after they leave.

Amongst a few other deficiencies, my apartment in Kensington was not equipped with a washer or dryer. And without a car, doing laundry was frustrating to say the least. As a result, I would frequently pile my clothing into bags and make the 10 minute walk to Layton’s. Trust me on this, if you are without the equipment to wash your clothes, get an apartment next door to a laundromat, buy a car, or have enough money to buy new clothes every other week. Walking in the middle of summer or the middle of winter with laundry for 10 minutes isn’t fun. Although I did for various reasons visit other laundromats in Calgary, I found this one to be the best. It’s not the nicest, or prettiest, or most functional, but it is relatively cheap and keeps great hours. Really, the two most important features of any laundromat. The machines at Layton’s are pretty good. They won’t be winning any of those prestigious«sexiest laundry machines» awards or anything(bet you didn’t know about them), but they work and are kept reasonably clean. Layton’s also keeps pretty good hours, open until 10/11PM depending on the season. Only two negatives to speak of; when the machines break, it can take a while before they get fixed, and you’ll be forced to listen to either country music or CBC radio(bring an iPod).
