Since when did clients wear just smocks alone without changing into them? Fine, don’t use capes but at least protect our shirts from the fine hair that creeps into our sweaters and sleeves. And why don’t stylists like to wash the back of the head and rinse properly here? The extremely senior stylists(the ones that have been in the industry over a decade) seem to do things properly but the newer ones seem lazy and just want to get clients out quickly it seems. If I get just a smock to put on at least use a neck guard since my hair is neck length. I’m sure men clientele would appreciate the same. I don’t know what’s happened to Diva Chinook since I first started coming when it first opened back in the early 2000’s. They’re charging Aveda prices but definitely don’t command it sometimes. The consistency has gone way down and stylists need a refresher on the standards Aveda salons have come accustomed to. I’ll still come here for my pedicures as long as Mia is an esthetician here because she represents quality and never rushes me out. As for hair services I’ve lost my faith in Diva Chinook for that. It’s not all about the haircut. It’s about the overall experience itself as well. Having hair down my back and when offered a makeup touch up only to have a bit of powder dusted on my face is not how I’ve experienced Diva Chinook in the past. Onto Redbloom and Swizzlesticks then? I think so.

Client dedication win! I have been getting my hair coloured and styled at Diva Chinook for nearly 5 years and have never been disappointed by the customer service. Tonight I went in for a much overdue cut and colour for a special occasion, only to find out there was a little confusion regarding my appointment, but a wave of ample customer service to remedy the matter. T.J., the salon manager, was quick to address my missing appointment. She made numerous attempts to bring in a stylist to do my hair that evening. When there was no immediate solution there, she promptly provided me her business card and asked me to call her personally to book my next appointment and she would see all was in order. To even further her commitment to solving my woes(I had a long day at work on Friday looking so forward to a head massage and gabbing with a stylist about the event I was to attend the next day) she offered to fill my evening with a mani/pedi. I was blown away by her dedication to ensuring I left happy. Every one of the team members working at the front, in the spa and in the salon handled the first hiccup I’ve ever had in 5 years with grace. My already glowing opinion of Diva was made better after this evening. Thank you!

If you want a good hairstylist look no further!!! Go see Michelle! I am extremely picky when it comes to my hair and I like it a certain way. When you first walk into Diva you are greeted by the front end staff who are professional, courteous, and efficient. However, they do sometimes look a little flustered when it does get a little busy, understandable. Once the receptionist has checked you in and alerted your stylist, you are offered coffee or tea. The little things like this always get me to come back, what can I say, I’m a sucker for good service :) Michelle first looked at my hair and discussed with me what I wanted, she also played around with it to see how it was before it was washed. This little bit of observation made a huge contribution to the quality of my cut. A lot of stylist just go ahead and wash your hair, not knowing how you normally style it at home. She took the time to wash and cut my hair the exact way I wanted it. At the end of the visit this time, she took the time to teach me how to style my hair(she gave me a fancy new cut). What’s not to love about Diva! Great staff, beautiful salon, and great service. The only downside is that it is a little pricer for a cut then a lot of other places but prices are dependent on the stylist’s experience. But in my opinion well worth every penny!!! Go find Michelle asap!!!

Very nice salon, very clean, very easy to find in Chinook, and reasonably priced for what you are paying for. Front end staff are nice, helpful, and professional. Sometimes can be a little disorganized with communication between front end staff and aestheticians, resulting in longer waits than necessary, but it’s nothing that would prevent me from returning. They carry a large selection of beauty products and give good advice as well. I’ve had three different aestheticians here — 2 were excellent and the third did a very poor job on my brows(and had very poor manners and no social skills) however the front desk receptionist apologized profusely and gave me a card for a free brow wax to make up for it. Really my only complaint is that whoever answers the phone there has a very high-pitched voice and speaks very fast, and you can hear all the mall noise in the background, making it very difficult to communicate at times. I do have a mild hearing loss so I am perhaps more sensitive than others.

Had a wonderful couple hours at Diva this week starting with an hour-ish long pedicure done by Sarah. I haven’t been to this location in many years, but loved the updates made since my last visit. The area where the pedicures and spa treatments are done is closed up a bit, making it cozier and they have installed some amazing massage chairs to sit in during your service. None of those ones that either don’t work or pummel you to death. Sarah has a calm demeanour about her, which made me very relaxed. I admit, I’ve always been a fan of the natural, borderline hippie smell of Aveda products. Pedicures here are on the pricier side but it would be a nice treat for a special occasion. My pedicure was followed by a cut from a stylist named Angela. I don’t usually expect a great cut off the bat with a stylist who hasn’t dealt with my hair before but Angela did an amazing job listening to me and giving me the bob I wanted. I’m happy to have found her, as I’ve paid up to $ 90 for a cut by a supposed master stylist who ended up giving me a version of the«Rachel» a while back. If your looking for a new place to get a cut or a great gift for a special someone, look into Diva.

I was dissatisfied with the service I got here — especially for the price I paid for it. I wanted to get gel nails on so I could stop biting my nails. I got it put on once and returned for a fill. When I got the fill done, two of the nails started bubbling and peeling the day after. The nail tech who did my nails was very nice and we got along great, but I didn’t feel like she was putting in the proper time and effort into giving me a proper manicure.(She didn’t push my cuticles or do any other prep or care. It seemed like we were very much in a rush. I had to soften up the rough edges myself when I got home. Not to mention the fact that when I went to another salon to get a fill(and then changed my mind to just remove the gel nails and get shellac instead) this other salon was not familiar with the methods she used and was amazed at how uneven my nails were and how many were starting to peel off. Needless to say I won’t be going back and I would say a word of warning — just because a salon is expensive doesn’t mean they’re worth it!

I’m so disappointed to write this review as I had previously had ok service from the team at this location. Unfortunately they have lost two clients because due to the interactions that took place on the weekend. I had booked two appointments for myself and boyfriend and as we were en route to the salon, there was an accident on Glenmore. I had called to advise them that we were going to be at least 10 – 15 minutes late as we were trying to get around the accident. Not once was I told of their late policy during any of my interactions with their staff — not even as I called to be late. As we approached the parking lot, my boyfriend received a call stating that they had to reschedule his appointment because we were 20+ minutes late. We were literally walking into the mall when they called and he had advised them that we were less than a minute away. When we approached the desk, they had stated that they would need to reschedule his appointment for an hour and a half later and that their late policy was anything after 20 minutes. When I had advised them that I had called, they looked confused and asked if I had called the right location. They also stated that they have a call centre that may not have passed on the message. I was very confused because it wasn’t very long ago that I had called. When I asked about my appointment, they looked even more confused and asked if I had washed my hair. I said yes and they said they would contact the stylist. I was not going to receive nor pay for a service that wasn’ t going to be the full thing! As they spoke to the stylist, I advised them that we would just reschedule another time as we both wanted to get our appointments done at the same time. Not once did anyone attempt to try and rebook while we were right there. No apologies were made nor were even interested in our service. While in the car, my boyfriend’s phone rang and it was the salon. He didn’t pick up and a voicemail was left that stated that he was late for his appointment and he would have to reschedule his appointment. So much for COMMUNICATION within this company. We will not be back and I’m disappointed with the lack of customer service that this company has displayed. You’ve lost two clients and hopefully more.

BESTPEDICURE /MANICURE EVER !!! If you want a DROPDEADGORGEOUSSPA to relax in with top notch service … this is the place to be. I was so pleased with my service. Everyone was very friendly, welcoming and the service was worth every penny. I actually fell asleep in the pedicure chair … I was so relaxed. I can’t wait for my next trip back to Calgary. I’ll definitely be going back for another incredible experience.

A few months after my appointment I all of a sudden got a promotional text .I called the salon and found out that they had given their clients’ contact info to a third party. I asked to be removed from the list but the receptionist said she couldn’t do it. She tried transferring me to a manager, who didn’t pick up their phone. The receptionist said that a manager would return my call, but it’s been a few weeks and noone ever called me.

I’ve been to the Diva Salon in SouthCentre and at Chinook. Overall, I love the Chinook salon much better. The girls at the front desk are much friendlier, the layout of the salon is beautiful and open, and the stylist I had was much happier and interested in my hair.

Went to Diva for a pedicure today. I saw their Facebook update earlier in the day advertising 30% off spa services. When I called to book the girl on the phone didn’t really know what I was talking about — but went with what I was telling her. The when I checked out I had to remind them again about the sale I was taking advantage of when they charged me full price… Not sure if it is due to lack of tracking/communication or intentional? Regardless, the pedicure was really nice and relaxing. The lady doing it was very nice and knowledgeable. Great service provider — an asset to Diva. I’d go again — which is saying a lot since I am cautious with pedicures.
