Unfortunately I have to downgrade my rating for Box Paper Scissors for custom wedding invitations. We received an email stating that none of the paper we chose or even similar to what we chose is available. So after spending the time sifting through the samples, and deciding on a final, we are back to square one with some poor options as a secondary choice. We felt that there should be more research done by Box Paper Scissors to ensure that samples provided for consideration are in fact available for purchase, or at very least similar type items. My fiancé would be more critical because she knows the chances of getting this guy into another appointment for wedding invitation design is non existent. Love may be patient and kind but it isn’t a glutton for punishment! Box Paper Scissors might be a great place for crafting supplies, but I would leave the wedding invitations to someone else for now.

I“m a bit of a stationary whore, so imagine my delight when I stumbled across Box Paper Scissors in the heart of Kensington. The minute I walked in, I was greeted by two lovely women. I spent a solid half hour looking around. They have SO many cool things! For you Torontonians, it’s like the ‘Cards, Presents and More’ store on Queen Street West. For you Calgarians, it’s like The Social Page, but a lot better in my opinion. The store isn’t overwhelming when you walk in, and the stuff is laid out beautifully so you can see what is what. This fantastic store is only a 2 minute walk from the Sunnyside train station and they’ve got everything from wallets to greeting cards, little knick knacks to gift boxes. I truly do like this store. The next time I’m helping a special someone celebrate their birthday, I’m definitely heading over to Box Paper Scissors.

Another stationery fix. Sometimes that’s all I need, and Box Paper Scissors their gigantic selection of unique cards, odd little gifts and paper, scrapbooking supplies, etc. It’s hardly cheap, but as long as my favored card is less than or equal to five bucks I’m alright. I have literally spent hours perusing their greeting cards to find the right fit for the right occasion. Birthday cards, Thank You cards, Going Away cards, condolences… There is definitely a lot of variety, and it is always changing. The selection is heartwarming, funny and gender divided. I’m not sure why, but finding a Thank You card without flowers on it(so you can give it to a guy) seems near impossible at some of the larger chain stores. Not here. They also have little gifts to give, so if you pulled an «oops I forgot» last minute rush, you can give your card AND something else. They have luggage tags, and those cute to-do post-its and wallets. Adorable. And if you are crafty, they have a little something something for the scrapbookers too. All in all a charming little shop.

Good selection of coloured paper, journals, greeting cards and other card shop stuff like wrapping paper. It’s just a tiny shop, but the employees always seem to be ready to help you find what you need. Actually, we found they have a lot of different stuff that you wouldn’t find at any of the bigger chain stores. That’s a good thing. We need more variety, you don’t want to give someone the same birthday card you gave them last year without realizing it. Good little shop with variety.
