I don’t care how many colours you give me, but 2 passport pics shouldn’t cost $ 25! Highway robbery, I can get this for $ 10 in Richmond’s asian malls lol.

Stopped in here at lunch to get a passport photo done. It was easy and painless — he only needed to take one shot. They told me it would take about 15 minutes and they were right on time.
The store itself is a little cluttered and tired looking. They have frames, photo albums (made me wonder how often they sell those these days), cameras, cases and memory cards. There seemed to be a lot of people working given how slow they were but maybe I caught them on an off day business wise. That being said, they weren’t overly friendly — not rude or anything just kind of seemed indifferent about being there. Maybe because it was so slow.
Passport photos seemed a little pricey ($ 22) given what you get but it’s not like you need to get them done all the time right?
A few years ago I also had some specific pictures printed and the quality was great as was the turnaround time. So all and all they are still a great business to use for your basic photography needs.

I ordered thank you cards with our wedding photos on the front. When I picked them up at this location and brought them home I realized they had supplied the wrong size envelopes. I phoned the store and they said they would have the right size ones available for me to pick up the next day. So I went back and they said they didn’t have any and claimed there were none in the City. I didn’t believe this claim and asked if I could go find the envelopes myself and get reimbursed. He (the store manager) claimed he would have to check with the corporate office but didn’t offer to do so at that time. He said he would phone me later. This seems ridiculous considering his position, the fact that a package of envelopes are less than $ 10 AND the fact that they should be rectifying this customer service issue as a result of an error they made. So I left and immediately called the corporate office myself. They agreed to refund the cost of the envelopes I had to go out and buy for myself. THEY DID NOT AGREE TO GIVE A DISCOUNT ON MY ORDER TO COMPENSATE ME FOR ALL THE HASSLE. As a result of their horrible customer service, I will never shop at a Black’s store or online again. The quality of the cards was not very good either. The crease in the cards wasn’t exactly in the middle so when folded closed the back portion hung out behind the front portion.

This Black’s location is pretty average. I think it’s cool that they have kiosks towards the front of the store where you can upload/​choose photos and the staff can help you out.
They do passport photos, which is why I happened along this week. The sign outside says they can be processed in as few as 15 minutes, which is what I was hoping for. I came by around 1pm hoping I’d missed the lunch rush but I still have to wait an hour to come back and pick up my pictures. Granted, they were very thorough and know what nitpicky things that Passport Canada will reject a photo for.
All in all, for a quick passport photo, they did the job and my passport should be arriving in 10 business days!
