Normally the staff is nice some very much so but I understand the comments of rude and especially aggressive bullying staff to be very true. Sad to hear about the owner being rude and uncaring was on another review site. I was advised to not bother talking to owner as with certain staff’s attitude it probably wasn’t worth it and now I’m glad I didn’t. Loyal client lost. It’s too bad as the young son I met along time ago was the nicest young man. Go to the very bottom of the page. .you will see«comments not currently recommended«they are in that part of reviews.

It took me 2 years of living in Calgary to know this place existed and I thought I knew this area pretty good! I thought it was new, but it is not! Went in tonight and took a good, long look around. I did buy $ 27 worth of good stuff but I did find the prices to be quite high in comparison to similar stores. They have pretty much everything you could want in a place like this and the store is large. I am not gluten-free but if you are, you are in luck shopping here, they have lots for you and your items on the shelves will have a red dot beside the price listed so you know you are safe in what you are buying. Vitamins, soap, flour, salsa, produce, frozen pizza, dairy, coconut milk, cereal — they have it all. Staff friendly at the cash but not likely to approach you in store to ask you if you need help. This was fine by me as I like a lot of breathing room to browse. Won’t come here all the time but I am glad to know it is here!

You can get big glass jugs of Santa Cruz Organic Apple Juice on sale at $ 6.50 for 2.84 litres, about half what you’d pay in a large supermarket! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Prices for most things are about what you’d expect for a specialty whole foods retailer, and yes, it’s higher than major-chain groceries and supermarkets, but that seems to be true for all organic and health food stores(Community Natural Foods, Planet Organic). So don’t expect Costco or Superstore prices for most things. But that organic apple juice… mmm.

Amaranth is a nice little health food store located in the bustling metropolis of Arbour Lake, Calgary(right across the street from the lake, actually, at the extreme west end of John Laurie Boulevard). One of the things I love about Amaranth is how helpful their employees are. If you are new to healthy eating, have recently been diagnosed with an allergy, or need information about natural health supplements, Amaranth should be your first stop. The staff are genuinely friendly and knowledgeable. Another great thing about Amaranth is the points program: you collect points based on how much you spend and whether you bring your own bags; at 5,001 points you get a $ 10 gift certificate. Oh, and I almost forgot that they’re very involved in the community and do lots of great community programming and outreach. Things that I buy frequently at Amaranth include organic fresh herbs, bulk products(dried beans and lentils, rice, granola, etc.), specialty oils and vinegars, and natural beauty products. My only complaint about Amaranth are the prices. Although they sometimes have good sales and you can buy some products by the case(like soy milk), prices are significantly higher than at Community Natural Foods(downtown or Chinook). The prices may be worth the convenience and the staff knowledge for some people, but for me it’s sometimes hard to swallow.

A — List. Recommended. Amaranth is a well run business focused on the health food segment of the market. The shelves are stocked with popular items, the service is helpful and friendly, the store is clean and the parking is tight, particularly on weekends. If you like Almond Milk as a substitute to regular milk or soya, they have one of the best prices in town at $ 2.28 per.

Amaranth is a well stocked whole foods market. I go here for all my vitamin needs. The people working here are always helpful and very knowledgeable! They carry some of the best brands of vitamins, at reasonable prices. They do not carry naturopath prescribed supplements or homeopathic remedies, which is too bad. I also buy my flour free bread by Stone Hills here, as well as my juices, teas and soy milk. They tend to have a good selection of produce. They have bulk foods and some of the best almonds I have ever had! Some items can be pricey, most organic food is, but there can be good sales. Amaranth is a great place to pick up the organic, whole food additions to your life. I highly recommend them for vitamins and supplements!

Amaranth Whole Foods Market is a mammoth of a whole foods store. It’s big, it’s easy to get to, and it carries all the natural and organic foods I’ve ever needed. Awhile back I needed to buy a bunch of natural/whole foods and Amaranth came highly recommended. I made my way over and quickly saw why. It’s fantastic! Like any natural food store however, I do warn you that the prices are steep, however that is to be expected for the quality of organic foods that you are buying. Although I wouldn’t shop at Amaranth every week for all my groceries, I definitely make frequent pit stops when I’m looking to furnish all my natural/organic food needs. It’s by far one of the best whole food stores in the city.

Amaranth is a great natural and whole foods store. Many people may not know about it because of its location… except the residents of Arbour Lake and the surrounding areas. It’s somewhat hidden in the NW at the end of John Laurie Blvd. I initially went in to buy breakfast for my colleagues, one of whom had Celiac disease, and was sceptical that I would find anything. You can imagine my shock and surprise when I found a whole section dedicated to gluten-free foods. If you’re Celiac, this place is a perfect grocery store for you. Amaranth has a wide selection of every natural and organic food you can think of. As with any whole foods market and health store, the prices are a little high, but you pay for quality and service. They offer a variety of information about colds and flus, and are focused on educating the public about preventing illness and strengthening immunity. They are currently offering info about H1N1 and the cold and flu season. Stop by and learn a couple of things. If you’re looking to make your life a little healthier, or just for a change of diet, Amaranth will fully address any of your issues. They are committed promoting a healthy lifestyle, providing nutritional awareness and educating the public on environmental issues. Amaranth is locally owned and operated and provides an abundance of information on all your organic, natural, and dietary needs. If you have any questions on your health and how to improve your lifestyle, don’t be shy, Amaranth is there to help!
