I have been going to and recommending Summit Tools for decades. The staff are very knowledgeable about the products that they sell and will suggest to you the best tool for the job you have to do. Not to mention you will get the best prices in the city. Joe is the manager and he will treat you fairly with any issue you may have with any returns. Ten stars for this outfit.

I think people should read the Google reviews on this establishment. Notice the 1 star ratings all have to do with poor and rude customer service. I will concur. I rarely post reviews but my experience there has prompted at least a quick post, I feel it’s my duty! Let’s just say I have a $ 600 jointer with half the parts missing, and NO response from the manager Joe. I finally phoned him and got the feeling he was put off he had to even deal with this. Bristly. Day 9 now and not one return phone call from him or anyone in the company. Wow. Where will it go from here.

Friendly staff, great selection of goods to upkeep the home and garden. Definitely will pickup a father’s day gift from here.

Lots of selection and staff around to help you track down what your looking for! Could use some more cashiers as we waiting 15 – 20 minutes to pay while two people slowly checked out two people.

Not sure what to make of this place. Parking is available in the small lot out front, as well as along the street. Good: The staff are very friendly and helpful, even following me around the store as I needed things.(I asked for their help, so no, they weren’t stalking me) Plenty of selection Competitive pricing — about the same as Home Depot, give or take Bad: The store is understaffed. Took me 15 minutes to flag someone down. Some tools(especially the unknown brand stuff) is of questionable quality. Some were downright flimsy, or build to poor tolerances. I ended up putting a couple of tools back. As with item that you buy — if there is technology involved, you really do get what you pay for.

I was there yesterday, June 212013, had Grate customer service by a knowledgable man named Neil. There was definitely a lot of low quality product meant for the homeowner who wont use it much or the contractor who believes in disposable tools– especially if they are billing the client for them… On the upside there were many good quality tools and brand names for sale that if you know what you need and you’ve done your research then Summit tools is defiantly worth a visit.

They sell lots of items, but watch out for the low quality of some of the imported/non-namebrand products they sell. I’ve had problems with their socket wrench set(ratchet quit working within days), files(once I got them out of the package discovered they were not even cut properly), thread taps(snapped easily).

Purple inflatable gorilla? Might as well stick a torn undergarment on a flagpole and let it flap around a bit in the wind. Equally classy. I don‘t quite get how management justifies wages for chit-chatting and daydreaming sales pepole. Their cheezy import brands, «Samona» and«Brico» have a steel quality that probably does not conform to ANY of the North –American steel standards. Steel tools sold under these brand names tend to behave as if they are an uncontrolled random mix of over-the-limit impurities, slag, contamination and traces of iron that get crudely manufactured into an assortment of dimensionally inconsistent shapes that fail or dull within minutes of use. Hence hobby-level pricing, e.g. 25‘ long tape measure for $ 1.99 The uncoated blade rusts within 2 days of touching morning dew and the retractor spring is so thin and weak it breaks in a month. Excellent deals on brand-name power tools. No problems with scaffold frame or hardware I bought there either. These are items I keep going back for.

Need tools or have questions? At Summit Tools the staff are friendly, they can answer all your questions and if they don’t have the tool in store they will help you find the right tool somewhere else. I was looking to get a tool that could show me the level of moister on wood siding, So we have a better understanding of the level before painting the exterior of our clients property. At The time I was at Summit Tools it was so busy and pact that the store manager and owner where on the floor helping their clients. After looking at some moister level tools, the owner came up to me making sure I’m finding what I need and helped me finding the right tool. Before he even sell it to me we did a test to make sure that the tool we choose is indeed what I was looking for. I would definitely recommend Summit Tools over big corporations with their insane pricing.

If you are in need of tools this place is it. You will find the best prices, better than Home Depot or Canadian Tire. They have a huge selection and even have some cute girls that seem to know their stuff about tools. I came here looking for a screw extractor to take out a set screw whose head was stripped(went to 5 other places) and I found it here for a much cheaper price than anywhere else even cheaper than online. Found the right size as well, for a 1.5mm set screw. Also bought a set of Allen keys and some replacement plugs for extension cords.
