I love visiting this store! I usually frequent just to see if they have any new Funkos in stock. Nice array of comics and action figures and definetely the place to go to channel your inner nerd /geek. The only tragedy here is that they were once inside Metrotown but that all changed the moment H&M decided to open.

Selection: They have a nice selection of trade paperbacks and singles. It’s mostly your big two(DC and Marvel) but you do get some smaller press stuff. The majority of the stuff there are action figures. What’s nice about their selection is that you can get your typical Mattel superhero stuff, but you can also get some foreign imports, like Play Arts Kai, Hot Toys, etc. They have a very small Transformers selection and they also sell stuff for models like Gundam kits and supplies. They also have some small trinkets and stocking stuffers. Don’t go there expecting a lot of long boxes of vintage comics. Very few hardcovers. As a hardcover collector, this is disappointing. Presentation: A very neat, but small store. Very«girl» friendly and well organized. That said, even though it’s a small store, I still felt like the space could be utilized better. Instead of shelves on a diagonal for their trade paperbacks, I feel more shelves, and higher shelves, arranged in a more traditional linear fashion could be fit in to hold more stock, yet still give it a welcoming feel. I dunno. Maybe it’s because I hate angled displays; probably why I don’t shop at Superstore. Culture /customer service: On the weekends, the store can be packed — depending on the time of day you go — with gamers and other kids playing those card games(sorry, I know nothing about those games, but I guess they’re like the game Magic or something). It’s a nice geeky atmosphere. The customer service is excellent. While the owner looks like he keeps to himself unless asked for something, the other staff are pretty open, always willing to help. Might be due to how slow it can get in there, which I understand. Price: US cover prices. The toys are typical of what you would spend at a comic shop. You’re not going to get Walmart prices, but you’re also going to get toys that aren’t offered at big box retailers. They do offer sales now and then, and they offer a customer appreciation incentive program where you can get a card and every item over $ 10 you buy, you get one stamp. Fill the card, you get $ 10 off your next purchase. 10 stamps to fill a card. Note: You must ask for this card. The first few times I bought something, no one told me about it. But recently, I’ve had staff tell me about it even though I now have a card. So I guess it’s a crap shoot if you get offered the card, so make sure you speak up and ask for one.

I like going here for the Gundam kits. There is good selection and the prices are good too. I can find Gundams here for $ 5 – 10 less compared to stores like Sakura Media(located inside the metrotown mall) I don’t really read comics but they appear to have a good selection as well as other toys, collectables and trading cards. Staff is friendly and they even have a loyalty card where you earn a stamp for every $ 10 spent. Fill the card to get $ 10 off your next purchase.

have you ever played killer bunnies? Its awesome. Unfortunately not everyone sells it. In fact like next to no stores do in vancouver but metropolis comics and toys does! Well they have some of the options… Not all the decks. thats fine. The reason I am writing a review though is because of the staffer I was helped by. He was super friendly, chatted with us alot welcomed us back to the store and even gave me a card towards thier discount program. He was just such a nice dude that I’ll totally go back when I want to spice up my bunnies deck! Keep up the great work guys!

The best Comic Book store within the South Burnaby area! This store is community run, and the people who work here are amazingly friendly. This originally is the Ages 3+ store located in Metro Town. This store is truly run by geeks for geeks! Catching up on your comics? Trying to find missing copies of your comic? This is the place to find it! It is a nice sizable store as well because it has all the comics that a geek needs. It has figurines, and vinyl toys as well! They have a decent collection of Magic Cards, and Yugioh Cards as well for those Table Top geeks! They also have a bunch of D&D products and a large selection of board games. They have tables and chairs for geeks to sit and chill and play a game after purchasing the product. Or to read a comic! The store is literally a place to hang and chill! I wish they had more local events catering to the geeks, but they are increasing as a community which is very appealing! I come here to hang out when I have the time and to grab my comics!
