horrible. went in & sat down ourselves. took 10 mins for waitress to approach us & say ILLBETHEREIN A MINUTE. yeah a minute meaning 20 mins not over exaggerating. my friends played a round of pool & she still hadnt served us let alone give us menus… we left & as we walked by her we over heard her asking for a customers number. my friend whispered«thanks for the great service» as we walked out. never will return what a joke. I will remind you it wasn’t busy at all.

3.5 stars! I have had a much better experience here over my last couple of visits. In particular, I found that the food and service quality has greatly improved. On my last visit, we ordered a round of appetizers — Street Side Chicken Tacos, Hot Spinach & Artichoke Dip, Reuben Sliders, and Sweet Heat Chicken Wings; and some drinks. Previously, my complaints with respect to the food had a lot to do with the fact that it came out cold(which made it seemed less fresh). However, I did not have that problem at all these last couple of times around. All of the appetizers we ordered were delicious and fresh. I would honestly order them all again, in addition to recommending them to anyone who has yet to try. — Street Side Tacos — The chicken was very well-seasoned and very juicy. — Hot Spinach & Artichoke Dip — The dip is creamy and addictive. — Reuben Sliders — The dijon and sauerkraut really adds to the overall taste. — Sweet Heat Chicken Wings — Flavour is great and the wings were piping hot on the inside. The manager here is very in touch with ensuring his customers are satisfied. After my previous review, he was very interested in getting feedback on what could be improved. As a customer, I appreciate that immensely … especially seeing the amount of effort that has been invested into making improvements! Our waitress(Angela) was also fantastic and made great drink recommendations. If you come here, I hope you get her! She’ll really put a smile on your face.

This place is one of my favorites for wings. Cheap, decent food, rotating taps and a good atmosphere. The servers are pretty sad though. We had to ask for menus more than once, and the wings took forever to come up(+30 mins). This place would be a 4.5 star if it wasn’t for the service Go when it’s super dead or be prepared to be super patient with your server. We seem to get the same gal each time we go in, and while it’s nice to be recognized I’d rather have competent staff.

It’s a pub with a pub atmosphere. but unusually awesome food… Friendly staff and affordable. What else do you want for a lunch with a buddy

The menu has changed and sis and I tried the fish tacos(awesome) and chicken mini burgers. We like that it is close and the drinks are well priced. Give it a try as the food is good!!!

Classic neighbourhood pub that is close to my house and convenient when I want to grab a cold beer with roommates or friends. It comes with the classic pool table, pull tabs, and karaōke nights and I’ve definitely had some good times here. The regular lunch/dinner food is ok, but their weekend brunch was really bland and boring.

New kitchen with some great tasting new food! Plenty of parking out front, Sundays is ALLSTARSKARAOKE — different than the karaōke they have Thurs and Sat. The Sunday karaōke is AMAZING — huge live sound — lights, smoke, digital song books — tons and tons of song choices! You can play electric darts and pool behind a glassed area — so the karaōke is less intrusive if it ain’t your thing. Nice patio outside for smokers and enjoy the sun — with great built in heaters for when it chills down. Plenty of craft beer choices and friendly and efficient staff! A great way to spend Sunday night! There is even an OPENMIC on Mondays!

One star for great food. –4 stars for charging 4 jugs of Stella to my friend’s tab when we didn’t order any Stella. Thanks for the rip off! Also the Waitress gave herself a 20% tip when we would have given a 10%.

Got the nachos again. Super greasy, uncooked cheese. Honestly this place just cannot serve you a good order of nachos

Majorly disappointing. For a pub the nachos were horrible. How about some cheese with my chips? The waitress spent more time texting on her phone behind the bar than asking us if we needed anything or bringing us the bill. The craft beer selection was pretty mainstream, but it’s better than nothing. Decent price but the wait staff need to know their beer. I won’t be back

Looks like they updated the calamari to use lemon wedges now. Actually not bad, but the calamari was a bit on the spongy side. The nachos come with 3 large bowls of toppings(salsa, cheese sauce, and sour cream), which is definitely nice. The toppings(especially the green onions) are fresh too. Unfortunately, the layering leaves a lot to be desired. Sadly, there aren’t really too many good beer special deals here. Not super expensive, but also not the cheapest. On Saturday nights they have karaōke here. Wow this is fun. The stage area is pretty decent too.

I went to the Great Bear Pub as a recommendation by a friend. The karaōke was a great addition. The service was terrible, our server Caitlin was inattentive and seemed to ignore us when trying to flag her down, walking right by us numerous times without so much as an acknowledgement. Not impressed. The food is not good and will probably never return… too bad it has potential. Service and menu need some work.

One of the few neighborhood pubs in my area. It’s not the best, but unfortunately my options are limited. Can’t complain in the service or drink selection, both are good. The food is slightly better than typical pub grub, when executed properly. If you have a better pub in mind or in your area I wouldn’t go out of your way to come here instead…

Busy World Cup lunch. Good lunch menu, pretty good service. All in all good place to catch a game and chill!

Still winning me over! Reasonably priced and sized pitchers of beer, half price appys are delicious! The Jamaican steak bites are always good and cooked to perfection. Love the little offsales store attached, which after reno’s is really stepping up their craft beer selection.

It’s a pub. It has pub food. Pub drink. A pool table. TVs and more going on. Going there on a Staurday evening a bit on the early side it was quiet enough to enjoy conversation and service was very attentive as well.

Brutal. Ordered nachos, and the Jamaican beef bites. The beef bites were fab, the nachos were not. No sour cream or salsa to accompany them(unless you would like them as a side, for an additional $ 2.00)… They are prepared with their own house made salsa verde, an drizzled with some weird quickly congealing possibly chipotle flavored sauce, and once you rifled through them looking for less soaked nachos, there was a smear of bean paste at the bottom of the plate, like a surprise you didn’t want. So — I added on sour cream for $ 2.00, and we asked for hot sauce — which is a chargeable extra at $ 0.50. Nope. Never again. Did quite enjoy my Fat Tug, though, but it’s not made there, so there’s that… Sorry — wanted to like it, and the beef bites were nice(and our server — while not super attentive — was also fantastic) but not enough to come back…

I have to say, I really appreciate this place. If it was downtown or closer to a hub of things, I might not notice but because it’s not super distinct but because it’s right near my hotel I am loving this place. They do pitchers, they have great local beer on tap, their food is hit and miss and the atmosphere isn’t stellar but they are a great place to have a pint during the week or watch music on the weekends. I will say, the servers don’t do a great job of keep track of what’s what so if you’re paying in a group make sure you either tell them or you might have mass confusion when you go to pay. Over the course of staying here 6 weeks, I’ve learn to appreciate the Great Bear Pub and their liquor store.

They infuse their own vodka!!! Let me say that slower: They… Infuse… Their… Own… Vodka. It’s amazing. Bacon vodka? Hell yes. The perfect appetizer! Chipotle Pepper Vodka? In a ceasar, dinner is done. Jelly Bean Vodka and Vanilla Vodka? The most delicious desserts! Espresso Vodka? An after dinner treat and the easiest way to Irish up that Martini I am hooked. They have a great drink menu, an awesome selection of craft beer and guess what? The food is good! On Wednesday they have $ 0.35 wings; we needed a lot to soak up all that vodka. I highly recommend the Szechuan(kinda of like an amazing Teriyaki), the sweet heat and the sea salt & lime. The dry ribs are also delicious. What a find! The Great Bear is totally worth checking out. Very impressed with everything!

The Great Bear can be good and bad depending on servers and whether it’s their awful karaōke night. I used to come here when it was Delaney’s and loved it much more then(even though it was scuzzier and old-man barish). They have good specials and the food is good ol’ pub food. Went here for my birthday once and had lots of fun. I recommend visiting!
