I go here for all my meats, cheese and Italian deli items. Today I was in the kitchen and had the porchetta sandwich and it was just outstanding. It had deep fried onions, crackling, rocket and the most flavourful roasted pork on a ciabatta bun. Amazing and worth every penny. Rino’s crew outdid themselves on this one. I’d put it up against anything in the city.

They have a good selection, but I have grown tired of the really inefficient deli service. 10 minutes to get two items of cold cuts AFTER my number being called? No thanks… it’s been like that for the last several visits and I’ve decided I won’t be going back any more. It’s also worth noting that many of the products could be had for cheaper in neighbouring stores as Cioffi’s tends to be priced higher than competitors.

This is a review for their catering services. We worked with Jason to cater our wedding held at a house in Vancouver. Jason helped us customize our menu to meet the diverse tastes of our guests while staying within our budget. We were absolutely blown away by the quality of the food, all of our guests were raving about it. In addition, Jason’s staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, taking on responsibilities beyond simply managing the food stations. I’m amazed that the company can deliver such great food and service at a competitive price. Highly recommended!

I spent 10 years of my life working in the retail meat industry. As a Service clerk, as a butcher and as a department manager. As such, I always check out delis and butcher shops with a critical eye. I recently moved to North Burnaby and heard a tonne of buzz from locals. Let me tell you what the fuss is about. Smartly divided into 3 store fronts. One for Meat, one for deli and a café where they serve food. This review is for the Butcher shop and Deli. Let me start with what I know best. The butcher shop: –Counters are amazing. Super clean. Meat is same day cut and put in counter(I saw no evidence of older meat). –Selection is Phenomenal! The standard fair, Beef, pork and chicken. As well as the following: — Ready to cook, pre marinated meat — Excellent seclection of lamb(hard to find in the city) — Good selection of Organic beef(including ground) — Fresh Bison!(My Favorite) — Talking to one of the butchers, asked for something not in the counter(Bison Sirloin Cap roast) Told me if they didnt have it displayed they could definitely get it for me if I asked. –Specialty cuts like Tomahawk steaks available –Bought some Bison and some Beef tenderloin. Both were of the highest quality and tasted delicious. –All meat was SKILLFULLY trimmed and of the highest quality –Prices were good for what you get –Service was top notch, super friendly and fast The Deli –I have been there three times and always crowded, but rightfully so. –Do yourself a favor and grab a number when you enter the door. –HUGE selection of cheese. By the slice or by bulk. –Excellent selection of Deli meats. –Everything super fresh. you can tell they go through stock so fast on everything that it is constantly rotating. –Counters were impressively clean and all girls exercising good food safety(different slicers for diff Meat and cheese, wore gloves that were changed out etc.) –Great selection of specialty Olives –Huge selection of dried, fresh and frozen specialty pasta –In store fresh baked buns(So really everything you need for a picnic!) –Looks like there was a section in back where you could order sandwiches, but did not get a chance to check out as there was a line every time All and all, this business is well run, well managed, and definitely recommended. It was enough that on three visits, sparked me to write this huge review, so do yourself a favor and check it out! Expect there to be lines though, but definitely worth any waiting!

Great shopping experience. Always find interesting items to try and the staff are super friendly and helpful here too. It’s a one-stop shop for everything Italian — such as items you won’t get elsewhere, salt cured anchovies, house-made sfogliatelle, etc… The deli counter is also convenient for take-out meal options. The meat(also housemade sausages) is very good quality too and the cheese counter has some unique cheeses(sardinian truffle pecorino!!). If you’re not too sure the butchers are happy to help you with your cuts of meat/advice. I never have to worry about anything I buy here because they have such steady product turnover.

My Italian family has been shopping here since they opened. I cannot emphasize how truly spectacular this place is. Ever since I was a child my father would take me every Saturday morning. They carry a large variety of Italian products and their staff is super knowledgable.

I started frequenting Cioffi’s on a more regular basis and started getting used to the crammed spaces. What drew me back were the Ravioli that are very tasty, indeed. Then I tested the Canadian farmed lamb, as well as pork and beef and now I look forward to get my meats, oils and cheeses there. Also, the spaces are getting better after the prepared and hot meals moved into their own store.

Okay now I swear THIS is the best deli in the heights(I made that claim today with another deli). The selection is large, everything in the window looks healthy and organized. Large with lots of room to shop. They even had some dessert cheeses. The guy at the til who was not only hot but friendly as well.

Cioffi’s is heaven! Best selection of meats, cheeses and all your Italian necessities(pasta, sauces, olive oils, etc.). They have everything and love shopping here. Friendly & helpful service too — I was making pulled pork for the first time and the butcher was so helpful in selecting best cut of meat as well as helpful advice on how to season/cook.

Great place to buy deli meats & cheeses, they even carry a small organic selection. Their take out place next door has great prepared foods. The menu ideas are unique and authentic. There is a lot of flavour & in their food. The take out place is much nicer and newer looking then the old place. The prices are also very reasonable, much lower prices on same brand products that are sold in big chain grocery stores. As far quality goes it’s way up there, and price beats anybody in the city. If you want to save on your grocery bill, start shopping here!

Listen and listen carefully! This is not just any deli, butcher, Italian grocery store ! This is Cioffis !!! They have the best SANDIES and Italian prepared foods around ! They use to have a small kitchen in the same store as there butcher counter but now have moved it to the center with its own location between there butcher and there deli ! I’ve been going there for a few years now and there prepared foods to go has always been good, but now they’ve stepped it up a notch and opened a full kitchen with even more deliciousness including some great new sandwiches ! When I was there today they had a sandwich special that they’ve entered in the big melt challenge by Vancouver foodster ! Are you ready for this? Close your eyes and just picture this ! 10 hour organic braised beef shortrib, 4 cheese(provolone, mozzeralla, fontina & parm) with crispy onions and arugula on a Portugese bun !!! I can’t even begin to explain how unreal this sandie was ! Thank you Cioffis for making this incredible sandwich and please consider putting it on the menu for good

Last minute trip for a turkey, day before hosting a 20-person dinner party on October 26th. Carmelina and her team presented me with a 9-pound(yes, that’s not a typo) Turkey breast that worked perfectly for our dinner. I can only imagine how big that bird must have been! Excellent service and terrific tips on preparation. Thank you for a great experience!

A great local grocery store. Staff are always friendly and are quick to help. A huge selection of meats and cheeses at the deli — perfect for a charcuterie board! Make sure to check out the butcher side too. Dragon boy and I picked up some steaks to BBQ on the grill and they were delicious. I don’t live nearby but anytime I’m in the a area, it’s always a treat stopping by Cioffi’s!

Everything you could possibly need for a lovely big Italian feast can be found here. Huge cheese selection(at great prices), every kind of pasta you could possibly imagine, including gluten-free options, beautiful breads, sauces, cured meats… I could go on. I don’t want to go on too much about how well priced things are(please don’t raise your prices!) but, well, let’s just say things are exceptionally well priced and worth the drive, certainly for me. One example: a jar of salt-packed capers cost me around $ 3 here, and I saw them days later at a high-end hotel café a week later for $ 14. Service is friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. Totally not in my neighbourhood whatsoever, rather, about a 25 minute drive, and completely worth it.

I like this place. They are kind of like an all purpose Italian deli/grocery store. This is where I buy all my anchovies, olive oils, vinegars etc. They have lots of deli items and cheeses as well. The prices are very reasonable too. They also have a butcher next store. The service is pretty neutral.

Not just any deli, but some cool, neat, imported stuff from Italy. Now you know why they’ve got the good strong coffee. I was attracted to this place from the nice aromas while walking down the street. Ordered the salami with grilled onions, no wonder that sweet good stuff ;) Great baguette too. The slice of pizza was good but awfully oily, yet, i’d go back again. Pretty reasonable, in fact, quite good. Not a place to sit down or anything, the aisles are packed tight with goodies. Free parking along main st. and take all cards.
