Coffee Time

I popped in on a Friday morning around 1030am to check out Coffee Time’s «famous» muffins. I am a big fan of crunchy top muffins and have been on the search for the perfect muffin.
I pull up to the location and immediately think it has closed down. It looked boarded up from the road but as I get closer I realize it is just deserted. I walk in and there is one person inside and a sad selection of a few donuts, some carrot muffins, 2 raisin bran muffins and a banana muffin.
The lady is very nice when I ask if there are any others and said she would be making a batch later and to come back after 3. I live fairly close and had the day off so I agree and place my order for 2 chocolate chip, 2 blueberry, 1 corn (a friend swore these were great), and a raisin bran. 6 muffins for less than $ 7. Or $ 1.29 each. I toyed between the banana and the raisin bran but ended up choosing the raisin bran. I had read on the website they had oatmeal but she said they didn’t have any. Ok… so I come back at 330 and they are ready, in a paper bag all kind of mushed together. I would have thought a box would have been better but not a big deal. I get home and see that there was no raisin bran muffin, only banana. I might have been able to have said something had they been in a box rather than mushed into a bag where I couldn’t see them.
So we decide to dive in to try these muffins and yes they had a pretty good crusty top but the flavour just was not good. The blueberry tasted kind of soapy and had an after taste. We all agreed the chocolate chip was the best but… that wasn’t saying much.
Glad I tried and the lady seemed nice. I did not try the coffee or any other items on the menu but there didn’t seem like a lot of choice anyway.
