Very disappointed with our choice to go here on Valentine’s day. We were a larger party(9 people) and were celebrating both valentine’s day and an engagement that happened a few hours earlier. The only thing this restaurant did right was bringing the happy couple a glass of bubbly. Things went wrong from the very beginning. Our reservation was not made for the time we had asked for and the hosts told us we were half an hour early. We got crammed into a tiny space where our server wasn’t even able to reach half of us and we had to pass down food to the other end of the table. I am celiac and so we asked about the gluten free options. My partner and I decided to get a bottle of wine and share pasta and a salad for our meal. We were told that the wine I had selected was in a cupboard that was blocked because they put in an extra table for valentine’s day. The waitress said we good order a bottle that was 20 dollars more instead if they couldn’t get the wine. I let her know that we would really like the wine we ordered and it eventually arrived. I was very disappointed by the small portions of the food that arrived. The salad didn’t have any of the cheese on it and I had to get up and go ask my server about it. I could see that my Carbonara was significantly smaller than the none gluten free portion. I thought this might be to compensate for the cost of the pasta so imagine my surprise when my bill arrived and there was a three dollar surcharge that I was not told about! Paying more money for a smaller pasta dish was ridiculous. I asked the server, Chelsea, about it and she told me I must have been wrong because they weigh each portion. While she was very pleasant that’s not how you respond to a guest complaint. Finally it took us twenty minutes to pay our bills and we had to go get her in order to pay the final cheque. We didn’t even get a chance to look at the dessert menu because she brought us our bills without asking if we wanted any dessert. So disappointed we picked this restaurant to celebrate such a special occasion! We live in Thornbury and are in Blue Mountain all the time but I think this restaurant will be my absolute last resort from now on!

Came in with a party of 6, and 4 of his people really enjoyed their food. I had a Cesar salad, and the portion was small but good. Pasta dishes would def have been a better choice. Our sever was really friendly, something that I have found surprisingly difficult to find at blue mountain. Overall, good food and friendly service!

I thought the prices were quite fine… Anytime you go to a tourist area prices will always be higher… I had linguine panatescana I think, can’t remember the exact name… My sister had penne something and my friend had something else… All three of us absolutely loved the food. And we eat out a lot! Could have licked the plates! Only thing I missed which was good they didn’t have was that they didn’t provide bread at the beginning, oh we also had the salad with arugula and pear and Parmesan! Great night!

Bad service and way too overpriced. The restaurant was nearly empty as my friend and I came here at around 3:30 after skiing at Blue Mountain. A waitress approaches us only after later arrivals were already served. She told us their pizza oven was broken and half of the menu were wine! There were barely any selection. We both got the pollo pesto which was what the waitress recommended. The wait wasn’t too bad, however the portions were tiny. I finished my plate because I was hungry, however the pasta was very dry. My friend barely ate her pasta. The bill came down to $ 60.14 after tax and mandatory tip of 18%. For the food and service we got, this was robbery. This restaurant is tied with Kikaku Sushi Bar as the worst in Blue Mountain. If you want to dine at Blue Mountain, go to Firehall Pizza or Tholos instead. Every place here is overpriced, but at least the food quality will differ.

One of the best pastas I ever had!!! Overall nice place with nice wait staff, but we can say that they use there gratuity button really easy. We were 4 adults and a kid and they charge us 18% service which was not fare, but…

Way overpriced, especially for what you receive. We walked into this Italian restaurant, with Latin American salsa music. No complaint against the music specifically, but not expected. Once at our table, we noticed cobwebs and general uncleanliness scattered about. We ordered bruschetta, chicken parm and fettuccine alfredo. The bruschetta was OK, however you could tell is wasn’t ‘fresh’ by the cold melted cheese on the bread. The chicken parm was burnt, and had barely any red sauce on it. Seriously, Olive Garden’s is way better and less than half the price. Lastly, the fettuccine alfredo was decent, however for a $ 60+ bill(Only water to drink) for these 3 items, we will not be back.

Everything we got was fantastic, especially the shrimp pasta with veg — flavourful and perfectly cooked. Salads were fresh and tasty. I would eat here again.

Don’t get the salmone dish because the rissoto was not properly cooked and had zero salt or flavour. Also, the lobster linguine is not worth it as it only had 2 small pieces of lobster and both were the end of the claw. The staff are nice however, service is good.

Was around the area with 9 other friends and outside this place, it has a sticker saying something along the line, #1 recommended place in Blue Mountain Village. We came in when it was empty in the early afternoon and we quickly realized why. First, after we order, it took more than half a hour before food started arriving in. This was understandable as we were a fairly large group, however they didn’t give us any complimentary bread??? First time a decent italian place does not offer bread I have been to. Second, so once the food arrive, it was a hot day, so we finish drinking our fountain soft drink before the food arrive and they do not offer any refill pop? They offer to charge us another $ 3 for one NOTHANKS. So here is the most disappointing thing, the food arrived after a long wait, and it was below average italian food. The calamari I order was over-seasoned, and overcook. I could not taste the squids and I quickly lost my appetite after eating a third of it. The pizza was mediocre and not worth the price I pay. Also I tried out my friend pasta and they were also mediocre. None of us enjoy our food. When the bill arrive, i was thinking of giving them less than 15% tip, but of course they have already tax 18% tip on top. The only pro is the décor looks clean and the staff were nice.

Way too overpriced. As many people rightly pointed out, if this place wasn’t in a tourist hotspot, they would have gone out of business long back. Italian isn’t supposed to be bland just to make it appear authentic. Four of us dined here for lunch for $ 110. It might sound cheap but you’ll get two pieces of cold bruschetta, small portion of pasta in Alfredo with 4 shrimps, some veg linguine and thin crust pizza to fit a small notebook. Wish my internet connection was working for Unilocal’s sake!

Chose the Pappardelle Alfredo with the shrimp as an add-on. The pasta was perfectly al dente. The sauce wasn’t under nor over-salted and the shrimps were cooked just right.

Wow, after reading all the posts on Unilocal,we were a bit concerned about what to expect from restaurants in the Blue Mountains area. Since I want to have a few drinks with my wife and didn’t want to have to worry about driving we decided to stay with in the village. Based on what we saw on Unilocal,we ended up at Magnone’s(Siri wrote it as McDonald’s…). We had: * Verde mixed greens, Cherry tomato * Chicken Parmesan * Sexy twist martini * Atlantic salmon * Keith’s beer My wife totally enjoyed your meal, which was the salad and chicken… And of course the martini… I really enjoyed my salmon as well, but the butternut squash risotto was cold. Everything else was piping hot And totally enjoyable. While we did have a good time, and the service was excellent, I’d have to agree with everybody else’s comments about the prices being overly high for the food provided.

Came here with friends on a trip overnight to Scandinave spa. The food was very lacking in flavour. We ordered the caprese salad, bruschetta, arrancini, pasta primavera, and the margarita pizza. We didn’t finish any of the food as it wasn’t very good and we weren’t enjoying it. The caprese salad had zero taste. I would strongly recommend not ordering it. The bruschetta was okay although really strong onion flavours. The arrancini was bland. The pasta primavera was seriously lacking in flavour and very few vegetables. The margarita pizza was not terrible but wasn’t authentic. The prices were pretty high, but had the food been good we wouldn’t have minded the price. The pasta primavera was around $ 17 which to me is pretty high considering it’s just sauce and pasta mostly. There was no problem with the service but given that We were the only patrons I would have expected some recommendations or specials. Wouldn’t return.

My boyfriend and I came to spend the weekend in Blue Mountain for our anniversary. We wanted to have a nice dinner together, and we figured we’d try the Italian place! Let me just say… Horrible. Simply horrible. I ordered a simple spaghetti Bolognese and it was ICECOLD. We waited at least 35 minutes for our meal and to have it arrive and it’s so cold, makes me wonder how the place is still running!!! It was so bland I had to ask for salt and pepper and extra cheese and it still wasn’t enough. It is overpriced, and like another reviewer said if it wasn’t for it being in tourist attraction area it would be out of business already!!! DONOTEATTHERE

If this restaurant was located anywhere besides a high traffic tourist location it would of tanked a long time ago. 1. This place was way too expensive for the quality of the food. My local pizza shop ran by an alcoholic tastes like a five star restaurant compared to this place. 2. The waitress had a «I don’t want to be here» attitude. She had long hair and kept it down, so every time she carried a plate it would land into the food. 3. She was one of the only waitresses I saw that was not writing down orders. I asked for ziti and I got linguine. 4. The sauce was so bland it didn’t even have a taste. 5. The chicken parmigiana was burnt and tasted dry. The cheese on top tasted old and not fresh at all. 6. Every time you make a change to your order it will cost at least an additional $ 3 dollars. Want to replace meat with a veggie, $ 3 dollars. 7. The food’s taste required me to drink my soda more than usual. Guess what? NOREFILLS. 8. My wife ordered a simple ziti with red sauce and veggies. The peas were as solid as Arnold Schwarzenegger bicep in the 90’s. She also paid an additional $ 3 dollars for one piece of broccoli. 9. We were so fed up with trying to eat this garbage so we told the waitress to just give it to us to go. She hands us our two containers and asks us if we want a bag. I said«Yes we would love a bag.» She then proceeded to just throw the bag on the table. I have been to plenty of restaurants in my day and for the price you were paying here you think they would at least bag it for you. I don’t have the guts to complain to the waitresses face and call over a manager and embarrass myself and my wife over how bad the food was so I settled for writing this review. If I can save one person’s taste buds from this place that will be satisfaction enough. This place is overpriced and a disgrace to italian food everywhere. My dogs would spit this place’s food out. ******BUYERBEWARE******

For the price, the quality of food is not good at all. We got 3 pizzas, and they were way too small and super light on materials compared to the price. Service was okay, and the space was nice. I’d not come back here again.

I came here for dinner with a large group of 16 people. They were one of the few restaurants I believe in The Village willing to take a reservation that large, which is a bonus considering there was one place that wouldn’t give us seats if we weren’t ordering food.(even though the place was empty…) I had the curried butternut squash soup to start and it was yummy, and was a tad spicy which was perfect because I was a little stuffed up. It was also garnished with some goat cheese in the middle, which I thought was a nice touch. Later I had the penne salsiccia, which I was warned was spicy, but was not nearly as spicy as the soup I ordered, but it was still yummy. They serve the tables with a nice big bowl of parmesan cheese like they should. So I had plenty to go on top of my pasta. This is also a place where the bread keeps coming. I also had a slice of pizza with anchovies and capers on it, which was good, but quite salty. Definitely a dish worth sharing. Not a bad place to grab a meal in The Blue Mountain Village, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here.

Update March 2014 OK .now they have priced themselves out of the market. Checked the menu a couple of weeks back and got sticker shock. Must have been the great winter they had. Noticed their other restaurant in the village also had a substantial increase this winter. Had to remove a star for that. I will drive back into town for a great meal at Tesoro.(June 2014 update. Stay away from Tesoro now. check my latest review) Initial Review: First of all for everyone complaining that the food is expensive in the village just stop it. It has to be. Don’t blame the restaurants. High rents plus percentage of sales back to the village is the reason. If you don’t like it then drive into town. I’ve been to Magnone’s 6 or 7 times now. I’ve had pastas and pizzas most of the time. Always fresh and made to order. Myself nor any of my guests have been disappointed. The food is very good. Enjoy.

Before I begin, let me say this… Italian food should NOT be expensive. Magnone’s on the other hand… was expensive… so I wanted to see how good the food really is. The overall ambience of the restaurant is nice. The décor is what you would expect a village restaurant to look like with a slight Italian flare. The restaurant is spacious and does have an outdoor patio to compensate for lack of seating during busy times. The service is good. They recommend dishes based on personal reviews. I cannot say the same about the food. It is mediocre at best. Italian food is not hard to make. Coming from an Italian background, I have seen my grandma cook better pasta in under 20 minutes. The sauces are terrible. They do not reflect what a typical Italian cuisine is. The last time I was there, I asked for a red sauce instead of Alfredo, and they actually had to ask«oh, so just regular tomato sauce’. When the meal came out, ITSTILLHADALFREDOSAUCE. It you are going to run an Italian restaurant, at least know the basics of Italian cuisine. Overall, the restaurant is just OK. It is nothing special and is not one of the better restaurants at the Village.
