I came here on a weekend and had the pizza lunch special. Great service, and the pizza was one of the best I have had in Halifax! I also loved their made in-house chilli oil, so much so that I had to buy a bottle!

5 star food, service, atmosphere and experience. We’ll be back! The great service started at 8:30am when we received a confirmation of our reservations email within five minutes after sending the request. An hour later, we received a follow up phone call. Wow! I picked the restaurant based on a recommendation from a regular customer and so I am glad I made that mental note — we all had a wonderful time. We bought several starters and I tried a bit of food from almost all plates and we bought 4 desserts to share… Here’s what I tried tonight(check out their menu for actual dish names): Cheesy flat bread, mozza balls, duo dips, salmon, gnocchi, pizza, kettle chips, chocolate flourless torte, salted caramel tart, peanut butter sponge tart, and smore dessert. AMAZING — all of it :). We were warmly greeted by the hostess, our waiter was fantastic and the owner was also checking in on our table, sat and talked with our parents, recommended dessert and helped clear off our table. Oh by the way, he was the one who replied to my early-morning email. On our way out, the hostess held the door, thanked us for coming in and so yes, we’ll definitely be back. The place is spacious, clean and bright. Lots to look at — art, wine bottles, other décor, the outside, the fire from the pizza oven. I should’ve taken pics but was too busy eating and talking. You’ll just have to go in and try this place out for yourself.

Service and atmosphere are great. Darla is wonderful. Pizza is really great. It woukd be nice to have the option for more sizes as I really enjoyed the pear pizza I had… I believe that we all had a great time as we were here on a Sunday for my mum and nephews birthdays… The place is full and it’s 730 pm as I write this review. Come hungry… Leave happy

Meh. I was expecting the pizza to be amazing. It was not. The flourless chocolate torte was good though.

I’ve only ben here once, and I can’t wait to go back. 3 stars is only because I’ve yet to try many things on their menu other than a g/f pizza(was delish!) and house chips. The chips were meh, and probably wouldn’t get them again. But lots of the salads going by looked great, and like I said, the pizza was great. I can only have g/f pizza, and it was worth the extra price to enjoy. I’ve had some Nasty g/f pizza, and their’s is good, reminds me of one I make myself at home when I get a craving. I can’t wait to go back and try some more!

I am putting 3 stars for the lack of generosity, although the dish I ordered was tasty. We were a large group(10 people) who gathered on an evening. My notes: — All dishes and appetizers looked delicious and well presented. — I ordered the«fresh catch», a 22 $ dish made of scallops and rizotto. The dish was nice and good. However, 22 $ for 4 scallops(medium size), while 90% of the dish was made of rice? Come on… Big lack of generosity… — We ordered a bottle of wine. When we wanted another one(same), we learned that it was their last one …

My boyfriend and I have been driving by this place for awhile, every time it’s packed and the restaurant looks beautiful! So we dropped in one evening. First thing that caught my eye were the nachos… but they only serve them on certain nights… odd. Second, very small menu. I was also craving a pizza. So we order one and spilt on together. I believe it was a meat lovers style. It was pretty good but very basic for $ 15+ on one pizza. Especially if I can order pizza from a local pizza joint! Personally I found it pricey and not a lot of options.

Well bedford. This is my staple. My go to. Even if you aren’t in the food for pizza, they usually have a fish and chicken dish. And even if you don’t think you want pizza you might second guess yourself when you hear how good all of these pies are. Everything! All the ingredients! Locally inspired and delish! Plus, they have some other menu items that are amazing. Dips, salads, BEST chowder I have ever had, fish, meats. It’s all consistently good, every time! The atmosphere is wonderful and cozy, the staff are always attentive and friendly. And the cocktails are divine! This is a real treat, always and always.

Came here during lunch with a couple co-workers. The first thing I noticed is how much glass is in here — I know it’s a weird observation, but when you come in for lunch and the sun is beaming in, it’s really nice. Sat down and ordered my pizza(Capricciosa) and waited… and waited… and waited. The place wasn’t even that busy. No idea why it took so long, but maybe there was a hold up in the kitchen. Either way, got my pizza and it was just okay. I will say this though about ‘gourmet’ pizza places like ME, Piatto, Salvatores’, etc. I get it, you’re a ‘gourmet’ pizza place. Even though I get much smaller pizzas for the same price as an X-large at Alexandra’s, Pizzatown or any other chain — what I expect though is gourmet flavour, ingredients and service. This pizza and service was none of those. I know you’re reading and saying ‘well why are you giving it a 3 then?’ — well it’s because I’ve been to ME many times. This location and the downtown one. At $ 22 for a one person pizza, it just rubs me the wrong way when it’s not amazing. End of my old man rant. The next review will be much more upbeat to make up for this. Ha!

I had high hopes walking into this place with my usual food buddies. First, their food was nice. Menu was appealing, and quality was satisfying. Yet I kept comparing this place to piatto on hollis st. and was disappointed. Price was fair, and atmosphere was likable. My issues were with the service. There was something ingenuine about the attitude of servers and hostesses. I believe that no matter how nice the menu and interior design are, the finishing touch of service should never be effortless.

Dined here many times. Simple, modern, minimalist atmosphere with maybe seven or eight booths and a dozen tables(with basic red chairs for a hint of color). Various nice artwork of Halifax spots. Large open view of the pizza oven & kitchen. Bright natural light during the day. Cozy at night(my preference). Their pizzas are thin crust, their specialty. The margherita(Tomato, mozzarella & fresh basil.) is very good. The mushroom(Portobello, button & oyster mushrooms, garlic, provolone, parmesan, microgreens.) is delicious/my personal favorite. The Roasted Vegetable(oven roasted veggies, goat cheese, reduced balsamic, fresh basil.) is another tasty one. The enchilada pizza is very good(black bean tomato sauce, pico de gallo, sriracha sour cream, onion, roasted red peppers, applewood cheddar). My partner loves the Hawaiian(Oulton’s smoked bacon, caramelized pineapple, sun dried tomato sauce, mozzarella.) — He gave it a 5/5, claiming it to be the BESTPIZZA in HALIFAX! Although once he had it for maybe the 5th time and said it wasn’t up to its usual standard(I thought it looked a bit dry, and that’s exactly what he said, just that once). He also quite enjoys the Lumberjack(Smoked bacon, maple brushed sausage, caramelized onions, smoked applewood, fried rosemary, maple syrup drizzle), as well as the BBQ chicken. The«duo of dips» appetizer –very fresh and warm sliced pita. The dips change often; the ones I had were a spinach artichoke roasted red pepper(pretty good) and a mushroom smoked cheddar(not bad). Both served cold with adequate quantity but didn’t blow me away. The second time I tried the ‘duo’(a chick pea option), which I figured would be hummus-like, but wasn’t great/very smoky tasting. A black bean cilantro dip was not bad, a bit runnier and edible, but not something I’d get again either. So after having the dips twice, I wouldn’t get it again. The Kale & Arugula salad($ 9 spiced pepitas, radish, local apple, mustard vinaigrette, parmesan) was quite decent. A good size for the small(large is $ 12) and just the right amount of dressing that I like, enough for flavor, but not heavy. My partner really enjoyed the ‘Burger of the Week’ Burger. Unfortunately, I don’t have a written menu description to copy, but do remember it was unique in a Hawaiian way? Ham, pineapple, lettuce? with side of potato wedges. The Vinaigrette Caesar salad($ 9 small. $ 12 large. Oulton’s bacon, sourdough croutons, lemon confit, parmesan cheese, vinaigrette dressing) is good. Obviously Caesars are creamy generally, so this one is like a healthier version, but then so a bit boring in my opinion. Of course I leave the bacon off as I don’t eat meat, and that would cause it to lose some flavor. The Artisanal Cheesy Flatbread($ 10 Topped with lemon oil, tarragon & smoked cheddar, parmesan, fresh mozzarella cheese, served with marinara dip) is good, like a softer, fresher version of most cheese fingers. The kettle chips look and taste exactly as they should. The Pea Salad($ 10 Spring peas, local mint, fire roasted baby potatoes served with arugula and pea shoots dressed in a creamy pommery mustard dressing) isn’t bad, very fresh crunchy peas. The Fried Risotto Balls($ 10 Housemade Arancini served on a bed of tomato sauce with roasted fennel, red onion, peppers, fire roasted tomatoes and a medly of marinated olives) are very good. Their Gnocchi(16. Pan fried Gnocchi in sundried tomato pesto, seasonal mushrooms, spinach and feta cheese) was very flavorful and just the right portion size. The Apple Crisp cocktail($ 10. Muddled local apple, vodka, fresh lemon, cinnamon syrup, local ginger beer) was to die for and tasted exactly like apple crisp in liquid form. We are SAD to hear that this was discontinued at our visit in April 2015! The strawberry Manhattan is good enough, with one large strawberry atop the martini glass. The watermelon lemonade cocktail is great. Desserts: The peanut butter tart: to DIE for.(an Oreo-like crust, chocolate drizzle, homemade peanut butter whipped like body with whole peanuts on top, and honey sponge) Not too sweet. The salted caramel tart may be even better, which is the scary thing. I am normally not a caramel lover because I find it too sweet, but this isn’t. It’s a short-bread-tasting soft tart filled with liquid caramel but doesn’t get too messy when you eat it either. Topped with a dollop of whipped cream & a strawberry. The S’mores cheesecake is cute in presentation and tasty. Consistently friendly, attentive service. Early on weekdays, it’s usually pretty quiet around suppertime, so there’s not a big social atmosphere to give it anything that exciting. However, on weekends it gets busier and is better, if that’s your thing. :)

Went there for the first time last night. The atmosphere was very nice. Modern décor but still came off as warm and cozy. We ordered the kettle chips to start. They were ok but nothing special. The pizzas on the otherhand were amazing! Finished off with the lemon tart. Overall’ food, service and atmosphere were all great. Only negative is the price. Dinner for two, including two glasses of wine and tip, came to $ 100. I will go back.

My boyfriend took me here for dinner on Valentine’s Day as we hadn’t been to this location yet. We were seated near the entrance by a partial wall and the location of the table made me feel like I was a greeter as my chair was in the entrance beyond the wall. It being a chilly, windy evening, made for a varying temperature in that area as well. The lighting, layout and décor of the restaurant was great though the red plastic chairs kind of gave it a cafeteria feel. Our server Alana was wonderful and we did speak to a few others also working that night as well. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. We were ordering from the prix fixe Valentine’s menu. As a starter, my boyfriend had the lobster salad which he is still raving about how delicious it was… two days later! I had the savoury tart which, other than a few tiny crumbles of goat cheese, it was mainly onions in a phyllo pastry. For our entrées, my boyfriend ordered the three mongers pizza which he really enjoyed — great flavours and very filling. I ordered the baconator pizza and was impressed! It is definitely the pick for the bacon lovers out there as Alana put it. We both had half of our pizzas to take home(the leftover pizzas were just as great reheated as they were fresh). Dessert choices were the apple turnover with cinnamon ice cream and the chocolate hazelnut torte and they were both great! The apple turnover was probably the favourite between the two with the cinnamon ice cream being an awesome pairing. Great location — I would come back again!

First, the great: This is a beautiful space, and is easily the day location to Halifax’s night. The windows are massive and the sun was nice and bright when we were there for lunch. You just felt happier being there. It was nice to forget it was winter for about fifteen minutes or so. Now, the good: The pizza here is still the tops. My mother ordered their white mushroom pie. She’d never had a pizza without a tomato-based sauce before, and she thought it was wonderful. I didn’t get to try some, so I can’t comment. We also shared their tasty duo of dips, which was served with delicious flat bread. The dips on the menu rotate, which is a great idea! I love getting to always try something new. Finally, the bad: I ordered the Caesar salad with chicken added. It was not super tasty. There was an off flavour that I couldn’t place. The croutons were slightly blackened and the chicken seemed to be spiced with something that was not meant for a Caesar salad. My mother sampled it when I told her and she thought the dressing was a vinaigrette. She hit the wrong taste on the head. It DID taste like a vinegar-based dressing! It was no good. Our waitress, however, was an adorable little star who was very attentive and friendly. We swapped some shopping tips, which I’m always happy to do!

Late lunch option during the week. Opted for the daily pasta special and Fire Ale on tap. Good service, good atmosphere and plate presentation. I had nothing bad to say about the plate. Cost was a little more than I’d want to pay for lunch, but for a supper option, this probably is one of the better choices along Larry Uteck. Noticed take out menu, will have to try the pizza.

Morris East Bedford! A welcome addition to my neighbourhood! The décor is quite modern and very fresh. Quite liked it actually. We visited for an early supper so it was still daylight, however the staff had mentioned the dim lit dining room is quite nice in the evening. We were greeted with friendly staff and seated right away. Asked if we’d like a booth. Perfect! Water was delivered quickly with the menu. In regards to the menu… Its shown on a simple piece of paper. I’d have expected something a little more classy for this location. There is not a Huge selection either. I think about 3 or 4 appi’s? 6 or 7 pizza varieties? I had asked our server about a wine they offered as I wasn’t familiar with the type. She was honest and advised us it was her first shift & she’d have to go ask someone else. No problem! She ret’d was a tasting of the wine in question. Nice! I ordered the Hawaiian Pizza. Grilled pineapple, rosemary bacon, delicious cheese… I felt it was missing the ham, but it was delicious! I ate the entire serving. The dessert menu looked delicious but I was trying to save room for popcorn at the movies to follow! Next time for sure. We ordered 2 pizza’s(1 pizza each) and only 1 glass of wine(10.00) and the bill came to $ 52.00. I find that quite pricey for what we had. I mean my husband didn’t even get a drink? One pizza was $ 19? And the other $ 17? Maybe? For personal pizza’s its a but steep. However– we thoroughly enjoyed our food and visit and will certainly return.

I’ve been here a couple times now and I really enjoy it. I like the casual, simple, clean décor and all the light that the windows let in. The margherita pizza is super yummy, though the ceasar salad was a little more understated than I would have liked. The desserts are made in house(Peanut butter fudge ice cream thing, homemade s’more and salted caramel tarte). I wouldn’t say they are big enough for sharing, so order accordingly. Service is always pleasant and prices are reasonable. Evenings can get busy and noisy, so you may want to make a reservation(this location takes them, the downtown one doesn’t) or get there early!
