If you want a consistently great place this Moxies is a good pick. They have great vegetarian options and amazing happy hour menus. Everything I’ve had there has been delicious. There was a slight mix up with a salad my friend and I ordered and the manager came right over to fix the situation and removed the salad from our bill — really kind. I usually choose the lounge for the great atmosphere and comfy seats but the dining area is quite classy as well. Also great for groups because they have so much space.

Went last week for some steaks with friends . AVOIDTHELOADEDDOUBLESTUFFEDPOTATO, it’s disgusting. We got fast food on the way home, if that helps to give you an idea of the food quality. Also avoid ordering water because they’ll think you’re cheap and give you a lesser service.

I live in LA and have been to a few dozens Moxies across Canada. We were in town for a few nights and came to this location because two of my Canadian friends told me the prettiest girls in Canada work at this Moxies. Unfortunately, we arrived after 10:30pm on a weeknight and the place was empty and most of the staff had gone home, so we didn’t get to see if their predictions were in fact true. Meanwhile, the service was average, at best, at this location. It took 10 minutes for us to simply get a menu. The girls looked at us like they didn’t care if someone waited on us. As with all Moxies the food was a strong average. Normally, I get the Lemon Haddock, but opted for something different and tried the lobster and shrimp linguine. It was pretty good. There’s many other dishes I enjoy better, but I dont think anyone could complain about this. My buddy ordered the half rack of Baby Backs and had no complaints. The reality is Moxie’s does serve good food and has an endless amount of options to choose from. It’s not the cheapest place to eat, but well priced for the quality you get and the atmosphere provided. This location is no different.

Terrible food, oblivious and uninterested service. Superficially nice décor. Myself and two other dining companions made a terrible decisions to eat at Moxie’s in Barrie. Terrible food is an understatement. Add insult to injury the prices are high for the quality of food product. I had a CAB Honey-Garlic Sirloin with the special stuff baked potato and seasonal veg. Steak was cooked properly, though not well seasoned. There was a sweet-dirty taste, I assume the honey, did not taste garlic. Basically unimpressive. The stuffed baked potato was also under seasoned, cold, and just a bland, tasted reheated, a nasty excuse for a potato. A regular baked potato would be preferable, and probably cheaper for them to make. If you like mashed potatoes with your steak, be warned they’re not available! There also was a choice of «roasted» potato, for which I exchanged my vile and disgusting reheated-tasting, bland and offensive stuffed potato. The«roasted» potato, was mostly raw, and again had no flavour, appeared to be fried rather than roasted. The seasonal veg consisted of two hard slices of very under cooked sweet potato, and about 5 green beans. Very disappointing meal! I left hungry. I told the waitress(Jennifer) I was unhappy and she ignored my displeasure and brought the bill without any discount. She appeared checked-out from the moment we asked for water as a beverage to start. One of my dining companions had the NY Steak, which appeared to be white in color when it arrived at the table, about the thickness and color of a grocery store pork chop. His steak was overcooked, how could it not be, when its about 1.5 cm thick at best. He asked for butter for his vile potato, as he can eat most anything, and was brought margarine. Bringing a guest margarine when eating a $ 31 entrée seems insulting. The entire meal was an insult to the senses and the wallet. He also had a very upset stomach after eating this meal. My third dining companion also ordered the honey-garlic sirloin, which he did not enjoy. agains he same comment about lack of seasoning. And he ordered a flatbread and dip appetizer. The flatbread and dip was the only tasty part of the meal. He also ordered a side of sautéed mushrooms, they were again unseasoned, but were instead covered in huge amounts of mostly raw garlic. Really terrible food. No love, no caring, no standards. I had a caesar as a beverage, very bland, no flavour to speak of aside from clamato. Even the alcohol is poorly done. Terrible meals for all concerned and felt very expensive due to the lack of value.

«I DON’T LIKEMOXIES…» this is what I said to my husband and best friend tonight as a pouted in the car. We were on our third restaurant, trying to find a place with a kitchen open at 11:30pm! Finally I gave up and we went to Moxies… boy was I pleasantly surprised. Along with good service, and great food, they earned 4 stars for being the only place open until 1am on a stat holiday. The Veal & Pancetta burger was part of their Spring Summer menu and it was pretty good. The banana caramel xango(chan’go) was AMAZING!!! Creamy, light banana cheesecake wrapped in a pastry tortilla, dusted with cinnamon-sugar and served with warm caramel, ribbons of chocolate and french vanilla ice cream… *drools* For a real treat check out the washrooms(picture). I’ve seen spas that aren’t as epic! It’s a little on the expensive side for a bar and grill, think of The Keg pricing instead of Kelsey’s.
