Discovered this on Unilocal and when I mentioned it at work it was well known. Went there with my, wife, daughter and her boyfriend on Saturday for lunch. Great, little quaint café and all our meals were excellent. I was expecting it to cost more but it was $ 50 for 4 of us. Can’t wait to go by and try something else.

So happy to find a place that offers fresh vegetarian/vegan options. I had the Thai wrap & some soup, delicious and filling. My husband ordered the Florentine crêpe and didn’t want to share! Also ordered a side of roasted potatoes that were perfectly prepared. The mint water is also a nice start. Well, even though we were really full, we wanted to try their homemade muffins, starting with the spinach/cheddar & finishing with the cinnamon coffee cake muffin. Both were amazing!

Amazing food, tea and atmosphere. Close to the greyhound station makes for a great place to relax while waiting for your bus.

My rating is 3.5 stars but dont know how to give half a star… but anyhow … Passing by Barrie and want to grab some food around noon time. We found this restaurant and decided to give it a try. This restaurant is quite cozy and the staff are quite friendly. We were there for a brunch on a Sunday and it feels quite comfortable in the restaurant. Maybe it’s not as crowded as the brunch restaurant that I sometime go in Toronto on a Sunday. Ordered the Egg Benny and when it arrived the table, the presentation of the dish is quite pretty. And when we take a byte of it, it’s quite good. The egg goes quite will with the sauce and i really the side salade as well. As for drinks, tried the Cappuccino, it’s foamy but the Expresso part in there is average I would say. Price wise, it is reasonable as well, so I’d say give this restaurant a try.

TLDR: If you like sweet lattes, don’t order a café mocha! One of my favourite things to do when visiting a new place is to try a local coffee shop! Visiting Barrie with my boyfriend this weekend, we wanted to find a place to grab some deliciously sweet lattes before going for a stroll at the arboretum. We decided to stop into the Lazy Tulip Café. The café itself was cozy and had a nice little patio out front but we were just looking for coffees to go. We asked for suggestions from the barista and mentioned that we were looking for something sweet. She offered a multitude of suggestions and I decided to keep it simple with a café mocha while my boyfriend chose a maple latte. We also ordered a quick snack for breakfast before our walk. We grabbed a pecan tart and a cheese and spinach muffin(toasted with butter). While a bit on the expensive side($ 16 for two lattes and two pastries) service was great and we were in and out. The pecan tart was really tasty but the cheese and spinach muffin was quite dense and not overly satisfying. We gave it a shot as it was our first time trying a savoury muffin. Unfortunately, the real miss was the coffee. The maple latte was rather bland and unexceptional and my café mocha was incredibly bitter and tasted like pure unsweetened cocoa powder. This was a disappointment as we had mentioned our preference for sweet drinks to the barista. It was undrinkable and I ended up tossing it out. I’m not sure if it was just an off-day at this café, as it has noticeably high Unilocal reviews, or if we simply made poor choices when ordering. Either way, I’m unlikely to return to this café for another try. –Ashley Marie

Hubby and I have been here several times and we love it. My favourite dish is the huevos rancheros. So flipping good! I’m not a huge coffee drinker but I usually down a few cups here and I make sure to take a Buddha tart with me on the way out. Love this cozy breakfast/lunch spot. If you haven’t discovered this gem yet, get thee there post haste!

Hip little place with healthy, progressive menu. Fantastic coffee! Avocado wrap was tasty, as expected. The free range chicken and brie was also really great. Besides the coffee, the highlight for me was the carrot, coconut and ginger soup. Yum! Going to try to make it at home. Service was also a delight. Very friendly.

Insanely good eggs Benedict, not pay off regular breakfast menu. Good service, fresh food made from scratch. Vegan options. We came here for breakfast. At about 11am on a Sunday, it wasn’t too busy, which is nice. I ordered the Eggs Benedict(a special that day) and my friends had the classic breakfast and the huevos rancheros. We all LOVED our meals. I couldn’t stop talking about the eggs benedict, which was made with hollandaise from scratch and came on top of some kind of thick, airy toast that seemed to be made of butter. Those who had coffee couldn’t stop talking about how great it was. One of the things I noticed about the place was that they had a lot of vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free items. The prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was relaxed. I would definitely visit this place again the next time I’m in Barrie.

I really like this place, it’s very home style. I had crepes(banana and nutella) with whipped cream and iced coffee it was so good. As a coffee enthusiast, they have amazing coffee. They also offer free wifi which is a bonus.
