Possibly the worst experience yet. It was a slow night you would expect great service tight? but nope! I was continually searching for my waitress! ordered the salmon and although the salmon itself was good the sauce they put on top with horrific. It was like pure wasabi on it. Did not enjoy my meal. when I told the waitress about it she said she would bring me a different sauce to put on the salmon but alas she completely forgot about me and the sauce. They did not accommodate me whatsoever… Not going back anytime soon.

We were at the Abbotsford Location a few days ago. Have to say it was very nice. Service was excellent. Everything About it was good. Then after having a conversation with our server. Have to say I will never go back. I can not. And I will not go to an expensive restaurant that treats the staff the way they do. Wages are at the bottom(min wage for server) I disagree with his completely. If you are going to charge me over priced menu items at lease have the decency to pay your staff a proper wage. And then to find out that you make the server pay you back 5% of the total bill from there pocket. REALLY… WTFISTHATABOUT. You are the owner/boss it is your job to pay your workers not mine. Leaving that on the customer to give tips to subsidies the wages is a joke in a place like this. Not only are your items expensive but you cheap out and make the customer pay your workers on top of the bill. That has to be the stupidest thing I have ever heard of. My tip to my server is to my server. If I want to give her anything at all it is because of the service they give us. The kitchen staff gets paid more but still takes the servers tips. NOT. I will never come back because of this policy and any other place I find out treats the workers like this I will never goto. Pay your people properly. What is wrong with you…

Fantastic experience tonight at Moxie’s. The service was perfect. Not overbearing or cheesy but genuinely friendly and prompt. The beef vindaloo was perfect. Just spicy enough with tender beef chunks. My soda was never empty. The other entrée at our table was the Oven roasted chicken. It was good but not great. The white chocolate brownie for dessert was large and amazing. I am not a huge fan typically of big chain restaurants, and typically prefer run down asian places but despite that I was highly impressed by Moxie’s.

You know, I’ve had a few really great experiences at Moxie’s. However, I think this one has turned me off for good. Granted, it’s Abbotsford, so maybe it was just this location but I doubt it. This review dates quite a ways back, but I feel it still deserves to be mentioned. My family and I were driving back from a friend’s funeral in Vernon, and stopped in Abbotsford to get something to eat. Moxie’s wouldn’t be our first choice normally, but it was a Sunday, we all had work on Monday, and we were hungry and tired. So Moxie’s it was. My parents both ordered steaks, medium rare; I ordered a couple appetizer dishes(gyoza and flatbread I think), and we all ordered drinks — beer, wine, and I ordered a bellini. My bellini tasted weird; I don’t know how to describe it but it was gross. Not sweet and peachy by any means. My food was okay. Gyoza is gyoza and the dips that came with the flatbread were flavorful and varied. My parents steaks which were supposed to be cooked medium rare were well done. No joke. Not a hint of pink was in the middle of those steaks. The sad, dehydrated log on their plate was supposed to be a baked potato. Who knows how long that was sitting around for. And the vegetables were limp and flavorless. We mentioned this error to the manager, but also stated that we didn’t have time to wait for a new dish as we were on the road home. Our meal got comped as it should have, and the bill still came to about $ 75. I know that was because of the booze; that’s how the dough racks up. What bothers me is that everyone goes to these places thinking it’s «fancy» or «high class» when it’s just overpriced pub food off of a Sysco truck. It’s garbage food made by some greasy 16 year-old who knows nothing about cooking, and has a big price tag attached to it. If I’m going to be paying this amount of money for food, I’d like somebody who actually knows how to properly cook a quality meal. If I want pub food, I’ll go to a pub. Maybe this was just a fluke, but I doubt it. These places aren’t worth the money. Hell, I could probably cook a better steak than that at home. Screw chain restaurants, independent is where it’s at.

Took my wife out for birthday tonight. First time there. Food was so so. Stuffed potato was dry and shriveled. Skillet of mushrooms was a few button mushrooms, and server was not to be found. Was considering location for company event, but not any more. Better places in Abbotsford that take pride in service and quality.

Service was excellent, staff friendly and the food was cooked perfectly, although the atmosphere in the dinning area was missing something?

Music is too loud. Place is too dark, like a lot of other«trendy» places. Are you a bar or a restaurant?! Pick a side and stick with it. Service was OK. Food was OK. Nothing special and no different from your cactus clubs and milestones. I avoid this place.

A group of 4 friends went for lunch, the food was really good. The best fresh tuna salad l have ever had, cooked perfectly. No complaints only praise from all of us. Definitely will return.

Moxie’s Grill & Bar draws its customers from the same pool as Milestones, Cactus Club and The Keg. Like its competitors, Moxies’s seems to focus on creating a casual but trendy dining atmosphere rather than serving really great food. I’m no marketing expert, but that seems to be an acceptable goal for restaurants these days. Moxie’s in Abbotsford has a young and enthusiastic staff that genuinely seem to want to make the customers’ dining experience a good one, but they are let down by those making the meals. The food isn’t bad at Moxie’s, but I’m guessing if they use the term«Chef» in the kitchen it’s likely a courtesy rather than an earned title. The menu offers a little something for most people. I tend to stick to meat. I do enjoy their dry ribs, but I’m usually disappointed when my ordered steak arrives. My experience is the steak usually arrives overcooked. The staff are quick to make things right, but then you get to eat after the others in your party are finished their main courses. If you’re a steak eater I’d recommend ordering it grilled just less than you how you like to eat it, so if you like medium, order it medium rare. While there is some room for improvement I’d still recommend Moxie’s for a casual night out.

I can’t believe this place is actually in business. I have never had such a terrible experience at any restaurant until this past week at Moxie’s. I don’t even know where to start… We were a table of seven and only one person enjoyed her meal of the chicken wings appetizer. Three people ordered steaks, none of which were cooked to order. All were tough and dry. One was half very well done and half blue! I truly don’t know how they made that one happen. Gross! One person ordered ribs and they were extremely tough and dry. One person ordered a salad that was ok, but pretty overpriced — not nearly enough chicken in it and way too much dressing. I ordered the chipotle chicken quesadilla. And surprise! It was filled with pickled cabbage! PICKLEDCABBAGE?! In a quesadilla? Ok, you’re trying something new, but how about saying it in the description in the menu? It was so so gross. I have to give them credit for trying to make it better — they offered all of us the option of getting something else. But considering how bad everything was, most of us didn’t want to try anything else! One person did try a burger instead, but it was so incredibly packed with salt, that it was left uneaten. Yuck. They gave us a few free desserts and didn’t charge for three of the meals, but we still ended up paying $ 110 for one ridiculously bad night out. Incredible how bad this was. TERRIBLE!!!

So disappointed with this Moxie’s, by far the best one is in Richmond, and the Langley one used to be good before they moved locations. Went with friends who had been before and had mixed opinions. The atmosphere is quite nice, however the food quality is lacking and the service is sub standard as well. Given the choice I would say the Cactus Club is much better with higher quality food, and the service is much more friendlier. In our orders, the fries were cold, and the burgers were overcooked, the waitress never came around to ask if anyone wanted refills or to see how the meals were, this was quite a bad impression since there were maybe a total of 8 tables occupied and numerous staff just walking around talking to each other.

I have eaten here twice and both times I and my friends liked it. Really nice atmosphere and lovely waitresses. Food tastey and presented well. Good alternative to Cactus Club & the Keg
