Everyone should try the pizza while visiting Sao Paulo. Perfectly cooked thin crust, fresh ingredients, very interesting and delicious toppings that you won’t see in the US. The Portuguesa was my favorite. The restaurant itself is a comfortable and stylish setting. The servers are quite formal in their white coats, serving you each slice directly from the pizza pan. A word of advice to my fellow gringos: use a fork and knife to eat this pizza, as that’s the social norm in Brazil. It sounds odd because pizza is just a simple street food here in the US, which we eat with our hands. Different story in Brazil. I love deep dish, but I would kill to have Camelo’s thin crust pizza in Chicago.

Sold! Excellent pizza with an interesting twist to thin crust. Loved the Caprese Pizza, and the ice cream dessert was just amazing. Enjoyed the service and loved the ambiance, definitely will be stopping by more often during my trip in São Paulo.

This is one of four locations of a family oriented traditional Brazitaliano pizzeria. It was super packed but we were only two people, so we were seated quickly. The service here is incredibly efficient by SP standards. No one is just standing — drinks arrive within five minutes of ordering, your plate is kept full of pizza that they refill from a covered plate kept on a special stand, and they don’t let you sit down without changing the tablecloth. I didn’t think this was necessarily the best pizza in town but I thought the super thin crust was superb. Topping choices were ample and ingredients were of a decent quality. A standout for me were the fresh juices which you could order while you wait. I will definitely hit this place up next time I want to order delivery in Itaim.
