Clean sand and imaginative play spaces are few and far between in this city — my only complaint is that there aren’t more Mamuscas(and that they don’t serve wine…) Wonderful indoor/outdoor space where you kids can play, make believe, make a mess. Children under 3 must be accompanied by an adult. The classes are great and they offer holiday courses, too. Pay by the hour or by the class.

A café for moms, a play space for kids and artistic inspiration for all can be found at Mamusca! It took me a while to really«get» this place. They weren’t always super friendly when I came in with my coworkers to grab a coffee and chat. That’s because, as they let us know, the place isn’t really designed for us. It’s designed as a haven for moms with young kids: — the hours coincide with school pickup and drop off — the menu includes traditional kids’ food and is focused on being organic — there are ample bibs, toys and booster seats — a lock on the door presents kids from easily running out to the street. I imagine that if I had kids I would be in love with this place. There are music classes and art programs for super young kids and an amazing play space with a teepee that they also rent out for birthdays. You can use their free wifi, strong coffee and outlets so you can get work done while you leave your kid under someone else’s supervision to play. Plus the food actually tastes good and the mom jokes written in little frames on the wall are super cute. Although I’m not in the target market for this spot I have to voice a few gripes: super uncomfortable seats and occasionally extremely slow service.
