Churrascaria Palace was very good! I’m posting this for all my meat lovers who love the Brazilian steakhouse spots. This place offered all types of items from beef, lamb, chicken and seafood. I totally enjoyed it … A little overwhelmed at one point, but a great experience. Not to mention I had the best caipirinha I’ve had thus far during my visit.

Absolutely wonderful. We had 4 there for dinner and not only was the restaurant very clean and comfortable and the service excellent, but the food was amazing! I have to say that I felt the salad bar was good, not great. Nothing wrong with it but I do think we’ve been spoiled with the salad bar at TX De Brazil. However, the meats were amazing. We all agreed that the picanha and the filet were great… Very tender and full of flavor. But as amazing as those meats were, we all felt the very best happened to be the pork ribs. They were the most tender and most favorable ribs we’ve ever had. Although we felt these 3 meats were the best, the sausages(2 types) and shrimp were very good as well. Price was not cheap however it was worth every penny and once again the service was excellent. If you’re looking for a great churrascaria in Rio, I highly recommend you checking it out. I don’t see how you could be disappointed.

Great food which just kept on coming at a furious pace. Delicious cuts of meat and well stocked salad bar. Friendly service. Only downside, really really touristy and we felt like we were on a cruise ship.

Oh my God. it was so worth the long wait in line for a table for the best Churrasco in Rio. It smelt great(like meat) as soon as I walked into the restaurant so I started drooling. And I saw a waitor cutting that 20lb beef ribs, and I started moaning. As I was seated, I saw that 30lb of lightly grilled steaks cooking on a portable sizzling pan, I was screaming! The rest of the story was some out of control actions with my hands, mouth, and stomach. Of course it was more than the way it looked and smelt, my entire meal was really enjoyably. From the quality of the meat, to the service, everything was top notch. The damage was 400 reals for 2 people with drinks, definitely high for the local living cost but hell it was so worth it.

This is the place to go if you’re looking for an authentic Churrascaria experience in Copacabana. I’m hesitant to say all of Rio because this was the only Churrascaria I dined at in Rio and I would imagine there are some excellent alternative options, but I really enjoyed my experience at CP. To start, you are treated to a buffet which has some hot options(like tilapia) along with sushi and salad. You are also brought some light bites to munch on like cheesy bread. HOWEVER, you should do yourself a favor and not eat ANY of that stuff and be patient for the meat. When the meat first comes out they hit you with the mediocre stuff. It’s all excellent, but as you get progressively fuller and fuller they suddenly whip out the strip steak with chimichurri sauce and the prime rib; my two personal favorites. I came to this particular restaurant because a guide book I bought from Lonely Planet recommended it. However, since that books publication(2013) the price at CP has significantly jumped. Our meal was more expensive than anticipated, but thankfully the strength of the american dollar made that no big deal. Either way, we left CP absolutely stuffed and thrilled to have experienced an authentic churrascaria experience in Brazil. I would definitely recommend this spot.

My wife and I were nervous about trying this place out because it seemed like a tourist trap and I was skeptical about a restaurant with the word Palace in it. However, all the 5 star reviews are spot on. The food was amazing(especially the Amazon Fish), the service was great, and the ambiance was pleasant. The great food kept coming and coming, it was so hard to refuse. I would highly recommend it to any other travelers looking for a good place to eat near the beach. I just wished they had feijoada which is a delicious traditional Brazilian dish.

It can take a while to get a table but you can get a really good capirinha while you wait :) you start with a buffet that offers salads, fresh veggies, and a few cold near items. They even have a sushi bar if you want a bit of Japanese food before your meat. Then comes a meat parade. Waiters come to your table offering a variety of meat from fish to chicken and various beef pieces. Really good quality and excellent service. Highly recommended if you want to try Churrasco.

An incredible churrascaria experience. Delicious picana, caipirinha, and salad bar. Great atmosphere and service. There is a huge wine menu at this restaurant. You can find just about anything to compliment your meal! I highly recommend this restaurant for someone looking for a traditional churrascaria experience in Rio. It’s been in Rio for more than 60 years and is constantly winning«O Melhor do Rio» awards. At $ 120 realce, it’s well worth it.

This was our last meal in town and a truly memorable one at that. We made a very last minute reservation using the online booking site off their website. The ambiance was lovely as we entered, including live piano music. Beautiful spread of salad bar options including fresh and delicious oysters(so much better than I would expect from a buffet), some sushi and sashimi(salmon and tuna, or vegetarian options), cheeses, prosciutto cut right off the bone, a rice dish, impressive selection of salad dressings, Brazil nuts, and more. The meat selection included sausages, chicken, a tender and succulent Amazon fish, pork ribs, beef rib, lamb leg, lamb chops, prime rib, special cut and several other types of beef. Also passed were grilled hearts of palm. Most servers spoke some English and were quick to ask each other for help when they weren’t sure what we wanted. They were genuine, friendly, and really accommodating. One server specially made us lamb chops upon request and was so happy when they were done and he was able to serve us. It was a little pricey compared to other places but worth it. Dinner including salad bar and all meats was 130 Real per person. Lots of wine to choose from — I had a 250 ml carafe of Reserve Sauvignon Blanc from Chile that was fabulous for about 36 Real. A large Evian was 26 Real. Dessert was extra. We had the papaya pudding to help digest our food. It was served wig typical cassis liquor. Tip: I first tried the special round cut and did not taste much flavor. After that I asked to only have it fresh off the grill, meaning I got all the seasonings and flavor. Then it was to die for. We were also clear to everyone we only wanted medium rare. My only criticism of this and all restaurants I ate at while in Brazil — the servers often touch the serving skewer and/or the sauce spoons to your dirty plate and then dip back in the sauce which is served to all the guests in the restaurant. I couldn’t help but imagine that the same spoon and skewer bad touched used plates of the other 100 guests in the room before me. You can bet thy had. Let’s just say my experience in Rio(and Panama and Mexico) is that the things you would consider standard health code violations in the U.S. are simply not paid any mind to elsewhere. The rodizio experience in Rio however is simply not to be missed, so we were willing to take a risk to say we had done it. It was so awesome!

Why just 3 stars… You can throw a rock and hit good meat places in this city and CP is no exception. The selection of meat, salad bar and the alternative selections were quite vast. Specifically the sushi, Paella and fish as part of the all you can eat buffet was amazing and a great value. The difference for me is threefold 1. Seating is very close and tight 2. No scenery in terms of natural light or water view 3. The relative aging of the facility itself. With that said it’s a solid place to eat.

Who needs a concierge when there is Unilocal!Just around the corner from the Cococabana Palace lies this fantastic rodizio restaurant that has been there for a long long time. This was the best meal we had during a week long vacation in Rio. We went around 6pm on a weekday and were seated immediately but within half hour the place was packed and line started forming outside. Coming from New Jersey, USA, I am not a stranger to churrascarias. There is a good selection in Newark. But this is the real deal. The quality of the meat is what it’s all about and wow, they delivered. On top of that, the service was top notch. They did not skimp on expensive cuts of meat as they came around none stop with all different selection of drool worthy meat until you could not eat any more. I didn’t even bother with the available buffet station as all I wanted to eat were the meat. If you love meat, don’t look elsewhere and enjoy the Palace.

Without question the best Churrascaria in Rio. This place really has everything. Great food, good ambiance, and an amazing and friendly waitstaff make this place really stand out from the rest. If you are in Brazil and dying to have a great Churrascaria experience, come here and look no further! For those of you who don’t know what a churrascaria is, it’s basically an endless parade of delicious grilled meat that keeps coming and coming until you feel like you’re about to explode like that guy in Monty Python’s «The Meaning of Life». Now there are a lot of churrascarias in Rio, but this one stands out in almost every way. The salad bar has better, more diverse, and fresher produce. The service is incredibly personal and professional, and, most importantly, the endless parade of meats that are brought to you skewered on huge swords are really top quality meats and expertly prepared. They have some ribs that are cooked for an entire day that literally melt in your mouth. That should be enough to convince you right there. The best part is that it is reasonably priced when compared to other churrascarias. At R$ 105 per person, the cost comes in just under Porcão, which is a more famous but less delicious churrascaria. Go! Just don’t eat for an entire day before you go there.

This was my first time at a Brazilian steakhouse. The food and atmosphere were really nice. The salad bar– buffet had a lot of interesting items including fresh seafood items etc… but I didn’t want to fill up on any of that. I was here for meat and meat is what I got. So much delicious meat, and then some more meat, and hey I didn’t try that yet, so guess I’ll find room for a bit more meat. Seriously, it was delicious. I skipped dessert but it looked nice too. I would come back, maybe next time I’m in Rio :-)

Great dinner tonight. Welcomed by everyone. Cost was br115R. Total with two water two cachaca shots, a bottle of Cabernet, and dessert was $R 450. Totally worth the cost for the two of us. Very good service and the steaks radizio style was delicious. Did not try the sushi options but had the Portuguese dessert pastries with port and all were fabulous.

User friendly online reservation tool. We were welcomed in perfect English and explained how things work. Very professional and friendly waiters showed us to the buffet which has a wide variety of choices, from vegetables to sushi. The meat they serve was very good quality meat and they came around superquick and with a lot of meat. It’s a bit expensive compared to other restaurants but it’s really worth it! Keep up the good work guys!

This place is so delicious and was one of our best meals on our two week trip in South America! You can walk from anywhere on Copacabana to get here, and make a reservation if you can as the wait can get long.(Don’t forget to check-in on Unilocal. They have wi-fi!) Spaces are small, and it’s a very lively, loud restaurant with tons and tons of meat cuts and even tableside filet, though why on earth the gentleman with the cart would take a sexy medium rare filet and continue searing each serving to a medium well is beyond my comprehension levels… I really liked the variety on the salad bar, though one thing in common is that everything is quite salty.(I’m always a conspiracy theorist and think it’s intentional to get you to eat less…) They had several different types of salads, which all tasted really nice. There was also paella, black beans and rice in coconut milk(??), soup, and a cheese bar. There’s also a bunch of «sushi» with hand rolls available. None of the fish looked inspiringly fresh or tasty, so I kinda steered clear of that and saved belly room for everything else. The kitchen will fry fresh onion rings and fries for your table. You’ll also get rice, these AMAZING Brazilian cheesy breads, and a bowl of farofa. So. Much. Food. O_O Dessert is separate, as are drinks of course! As of March 2015, this place cost 105 Reals for dinner. I still think it was very worth it and a great night out. :)
