Ariau Amazon Towers

This is an amazing hotel in the heart of the Amazon. The word is that Bill Gates has stayed here, and that isn’t hard to believe, because it really does have it all. The tours are first rate and knowledgeable guides will take you out on excursions into the rainforest. One of my favorites was a survival excursion, where our guide taught us how to make a shelter, get fresh water from a vine, and set a bow-​trap. He said my bow-​trap was the best in the group and gave me the bow and its arrow which now hangs on my wall. I also loved our excursion to catch piranhas, but those suckers are tricky quick and I only managed to catch one. At first, I was a little frustrated with this event, but the staff soon appeared with a makeshift floating bar and somehow ice-​cold caipirinhas made the fishing trip seem worthwhile.
This resort also offers excellent entertainment with cultural dances and events that really brought the Amazon to life. I loved wood carving demonstration and even had a plaque with a jaguar and my name carved by a local craftsman: a custom souvenir well worth $ 50. This place really is the only way to see the Amazon. It has just the right amount of luxury spiced with the perfect slice of adventure.

Instalado no coração da Amazônia, o hotel está envolto pela grande beleza das árvores no encontro dos rios Ariaú e Negro. O hotel é flutuante e serve uma comida deliciosa em seu restaurante, e a energia é fornecida por geradores permitindo o uso de ventiladores e refrigeradores. E no rstaurante são preparados deliciosos pratos com ingredientes locais e peixes frescos, pescados no mesmo dia. Mas o que mais me impressionou foi a integração que o hotel tem com o meio ambiente amazônico, as excursões foram guiadas e promovidas pelo hotel, e poderiam ser feitas, em barcos, canoas ou até mesmo a pé. Eu não recomendo a pé, porque eu me cansei demais, e me destraí com o cansaço e não prestei atenção direito no que o guia estava falando, e além disso eu caí, e machuquei o meu pé. Mas a recompensa é maior. (:
