One of the nicest, most helpful proprietors I’ve ever encountered in Europe. The authentic Belgian food was awesome, the beers selection was great, the wifi was fast and the owners were incredibly kind and even gave me great tips for making the most of my stay in Brussels. Great people, great food, great beers. Can’t wait to come back!

My favorite place to eat in Brussels, and about as cozy as it gets. This small establishment is only open from breakfast until 6pm, and just walking in you can tell that it’s a locally run institution that focuses on simple, authentic, belgian and french classics with no frills attached. The have a different breakfast and lunch menu, but if you come in during lunch you can enjoy the gamut of savory belgian classics without the price premium accompanied by the location of the Grote Market. They have only a few items on the standard menu, but a different special each day, and all their dishes will only run between 8 and 12 euro. And as for the food itself? Home-made, unassuming, and delicious. The Stoemp is served piping hot and topped with cheese. The meatballs are flavored with a sweet fig(i may be remembering this wrong) sauce and noodles on the side in a generous portion. The stews are hearty and taste like someone’s Grandma is working behind the scenes. You can easily feed 4 people for 30 – 35 euro here. Whether you come in for a coffee break, tea time, or to grab a meal, Le Temps d’une Pose is probably the best restaurant I can think of in Brussels to try local cuisine at a low price, with none of the pretense.

Had the croque monsieur and a couple of glasses of rosé wine with my niece and my darling 1-yr old grand-nephew. The service was awesome and friendly. The sandwich was yummy. This was a lovely find as we wandered through the streets. They do not accept credit cards but there is an ATM nearby.
