The Chateaubriand with Bearnaise sauce was excellent! Mitch had the Lasagna and it was also very good. They were very busy so the service was a bit slow but it was a good evening and we were in the shade meeting people from across the world! They did take credit cards when we were there.

The staff was friendly and the beers cheap and tasty, but this probably isn’t where you go to get the best frites in town. No credit cards, which could embarrassingly mean an inability to pay your bill if you haven’t planned for this in advance. Luckily in certain cases I’ve heard that the incredibly forgiving(or annoyed and just wanting to be rid of you) staff might just let you off the hook for the few euros you’re short. Sadly, aside from this amazing display of generosity, the place is still kind of outdated and uninviting.

Fine amatrice de «jeux de mots à deux balles», c’est avec un plasir non dissimulé que je suis rentrée au Saint d’Hic, ce petit café de la Place Rouppe. Un endroit sans prétention, où l’on se replie généralement quand son voisin le resto Houtsiplou est bondé. C’est ici qu’arrive le plan spécial fauchés: s’il vous manqué votre dose de caféine mais qu’en même temps, vous avez un petit creu, sachez qu’ici le café(1,80 €) est servi avec une gauffre ! Certes n’allez pas chercher l’extase gustative des gauffres de chez Dandoy, mais elles né sont pas infâmes. Et je peux vous dire que ça cale bien plus qu’un mini spéculoos !
