Die beste mir bekannte Pizza der Stadt — und ja ich kenne Lokale, wie Pizza Mari…
Ich weiß nicht warum es nicht schon an jeder Ecke so ein Lokal gibt. Die Pizza ist typisch italienisch und die Auswahl ist immer anders. Zudem sind die Preise fair. Was will man mehr für eine Mittagspause?

If you have ever dreamed about a meter of pizza all for your beautiful little self, you have found your happy place. La Pausa makes Pizza by the (square) slice as well, and they do not disappoint. Thin crust, fresh toppings, olive & chili oil to taste– pizza heaven. It’s also affordable, so that means it has become an extension of many local living rooms. Skip the gym, pick up a meter, then go watch some Netflix and consider how magical life can be.

Excellent pizza, pizza sauce, various combinations, and great price point. Little patio spot with a stop and go inside feel. Take out, stay in, whatever it is, the pizza is always a win.

Der halbe Meter Pizza ab 8,50 €. Wir wurden zu zweit davon gut satt mit Tiramisu als Nachtisch.

Fresh and delicious pizza! My fave is the potato, but they don’t seem to have it often.

For some reason I never reviewed La Pausa, although I used to be a regular there (I still like it, only I am not in that neighborhood as often).
Here we go: The final (square) pizza product is very good although they have a special technique how they make their pizza. It is not the traditional Italian way of making pizza but rather a middle-​eastern fusion (I want to say Lebanese for some reason) way of doing it. Surprisingly enough, the pizza tastes great.
They first bake the dough part — it’s like a flat-​bread, lavash. Only when that is done, they pull it out of the oven (and it can sit out for a while — they usually have a whole stack waiting) and put pizza ingredients on it and back in the oven it goes. What that does is makes the crust a little crispier — but just as tasty.
The pizzas are sold by the slice or by the meter. You can either choose what they have currently prepared or they can make a couple of meters especially customized according to your liking — I like the one with spicy salami.
It is a great and affordable little place to grab a slice of pizza on the go, or just take the whole whole thing home for everyone to enjoy — not to forget, because they make pizza the way they do, it is also great re-​heated on the pizza stone in your oven.

Für ein ausgezeichnetesPizzastück zwischen durch ist das La Pausa bestens geeignet. Der kleine aber feine Pizzabäcker liegt auf der Neubaugasse und lädt mit einer eleganten Holztheke direkt am Fenster zum kurzen Verweilen an. Pizza genießen während andere eilend vorüberziehen — alleine dafür lohnt’s sich schon.
Jetzt zum eigentlichen Thema: die Pizza — dünner Boden, mit hausgemachten Basilikum als Grundlage und dann folgen erst die Zutaten. Das macht die Pizza knusprig und super gewürzt. Genauso wie sie in Italien schmeckt. Zudem ist sie hier nicht rund sondern ein langes Rechteck. Man gibt an wieviel cm man von der jeweiligen Sorte haben möchte. Kann verwirrend sein am Anfang, darüber hilft aber der freundliche Herr bei der Ausgabe schon hinweg.
Alles in allem ein gelungener Pizzastand für kurz mal zwischendurch, wobei bestellen werd ich mir dort auch gerne was. Sieht alles sehr ordentlich und g’schmackig aus.

Pizza, Pizza, Pizza — ein spannendes Thema, und auch in Wien schwankt hier die Bandbreite zwischen unessbarem Teigverbrechen bis zum kulinarischen Hochgenuss. Wer Pizza nur schnittenweise kaufen möchte, hatte es bisher richtig schwer, außerdem dem Stand am Schwedenplatz und dem am Praterstern fällt mir da überhaupt kein guter Vertreter ein, dafür jede Menge ganz Schlimme auf der Mariahilferstraße.
Das La Pause spezialisiert sich quasi auf Pizzaschnitten, obwohl man natürlich auch eine ganze Pizza bestellen kann. Für 2,60 Euro gibts ein Stück von guter Größe und sehr leckerer Qualität — man merkts ja meistens an den Pilzen, wenn die schon mal nicht aus der Dose sind, dann ist das schon ein gutes Zeichen.
Der Laden selbst ist klar auf Takeout/​Imbiss ausgerichtet aber für diese Zwecke gut gemacht. Ich komm sicher öfter vorbei auf ein Schnittchen.

Also ich bin nicht begeistert von dieser Pizza. Die ist einfach zu minimalistisch und hat auch wenig Pizza-​Aroma. Sehr trocken!!, wenig Geschmack und dann eigentlich für den Preis 2,30 pro Stück auch teuer. Es ist nicht alles supa, was aus Berlin kommt

La Pausa offers pizza by the meter, y’all. How cool is that? I’ve only ever had slices of a few different types of their pizzas, but I think if I were to have a pizza party, this would be a cool place to buy it, for the novelty if nothing else.
While there is some seating inside, most of the seating is at a bar that’s both inside and outside, and at little tables set up outside. This place is primarily a take-​out place, I think, as people tend to pick up slices or pizzas to go, and seating is *very* limited.
The guys working there have always been pretty nice, and when you order a slice from one of the meter-​long pizzas available (there are usually like 4 types), they cut it off, heat it up, then cut it into smaller pieces for you. From there you can eat it at the place or take it with you. I think the people working couldn’t care less what you decide to do.
For the price you pay the pizza is really pretty good, but generally speaking, it’s nothing special. I think, as I said before, it’s the novelty of meter-​long pizza that makes this place interesting, and being able to get a few slices on the very cheap makes it a decent place to go for a slice or two.

La Pausa hat erst vor Kurzem eröffnet und bietet, zumindest nach meinem Geschmack, die beste Pizza außerhalb einer konventionellen Pizzeria. Damit meine ich, dass es sich bei La Pausa um ein «Pizzaschnitten”-Lokal handelt, Pizza Bizi nicht unähnlich. Doch der Geschmack ist ungleich besser.
Zuvor war an dem Ort ein etwas versifft anmutendes Pizza/​Kebap Lokal, das die Besitzer gewechselt hat und nun komplett umgestaltet wurde. La Pausa dürfte, nach dem Logo und der Homepage, ursprünglich aus Berlin kommen und hat jetzt eine Filiale in der Neubaugasse.
Bei den Pizzen von La Pausa handelt es sich nicht um runde, sondern um eher längliche Dinger, aus denen dann ganz passable Rechtecke rausgeschnitten werden. Belegt sind sie mit durchwegs hochwertigen Zutaten. Echter Mozzarella, kein Pressschinken, gute pikante Salami, aber auch ausgefallenere Varianten, wie eine Rosmarin/​Pilz Pizza. Verdammt gut. Besonderes Lob will ich dem Pizzateig aussprechen: Die Ränder, die ich sonst mit wenig Lust verspeise, sind hier wirklich ein Gedicht.
Ein Stück kostet € 2,30, eine halbe Pizza (in etwa so groß, wie eine konventionelle runde Pizza) € 8,50, eine Ganze € 16,90. Gerade richtig für einen kleinen Snack für zwischendurch.
Recht viele Sitzplätze sind hier aber leider nicht vorhanden.
