I stopped at this garden centre in search of a potted christmas tree and found all manner of bric-à-brac and a gorgeous little café overlooking a duck pond. The service was friendly and swift and I was tucking into a delicious lemon tart before I knew it. The tart itself had a lovely well balanced filling, with a delicate short crust casing which didn’t require a jackhammer to penetrate. To top off the tart was a serve cream with beautiful crushed berries folded through, and a few lines of a berry jam. The order which arrived at a neighbouring table was well presented and appeared to be enjoyed. The café was advertising a 2 course Christmas lunch with a glass of bubbles for $ 35, which looked to be good value, and I think I may time my return for the tree to coincide with lunch.

Every now and then you come across a unique breath taking beauty. And then you think– do I tell everyone about it or keep it a secret. Pssst… I am going to tell you about it. It’s only 10 min drive from Greensborough. So much to say I’m just in awe with this place. The café — perfect food breakfast brunch till 3pm. The lucky ones get a seat overlooking the ducky pond. I had the Moroccan eggs on a flat bread. Yummm! The coffee is great and everything on the menu just looks delicious! They do high tea on last Sunday of each month too. A function room awaits for parties or just a business workout session. But there’s more — they have a superb gallery and shop too. PLus a whole garden centre complete with pots etc.
