Lobethal Bakery

Really good bread. We picked up seeded sourdough loaf and an olive loaf. Both were fabulous. Paired with Udder Delights, oh my.
Had coffee at the bakery one day and it was pretty good. A little loud inside. The bakery and ice cream treats looked good.

Lobethal Bakery is about as good as you get when it comes to all round bakery deliciousness.
Their location in woodside is spacious, with a feel typical of a country bakery. You can kinda imagine it full of tourists on the weekend.
They do the most delicious fresh rolls, a huge variety of pies and pasties, breads and sweets. There are also a bunch of ryes and grain breads, to accompany the more typical loaves… I came home with a pumpkin seed rye today which they sliced for me, yumbo.
They specialise also in pretzels if you have a savoury hankering for a German style snack. Otherwise they do the best beesting I’ve had just about anywhere.
Vanilla slice fans be warned — The Lobethal bakery does just about the best one you can imagine. The real joy of it lies in the crispy, thin pastry which actually allows you to bite into the sweet treat. The icing is also nice and thin, with a deliciously creamy vanilla custard in the centre. I dare you to find a better one!
