Not so much a chicken shop as much as it is a Wollongong cultural institution. Through the years, Chicko’s has supplied locals with the best in chicken schnitzel, roast chicken, lasagna, caramel/​Nutella cakes, berry yogurt and fish n chips! And this is just the beginning! From the first store in Figtree, this convenient second location provides an ocean view just around the corner. But let’s be honest, you don’t get to eat an ocean view. Just come along, grab a schnitty burger the size of your head (the prices includes a free beverage!) and bask in the glory of Chicko’s.

«They serve chicken burgers that are bigger than your head» is what was described to my friends and I about where we should go for dinner. Bigger than who’s head? Ally has a small head but Hamish’s head is huge… guess we’ll have to see for ourselves.
We came here after a beautiful day of swimming and sun bathing in Shellharbour Beach in the Gong. We got there and the menu was massive. I asked the girl how big the mini sandwich was, and she showed me the size which didn’t look mini to me, so I got it with the sweet chili sauce.
I got the sandwich pretty quickly. I saw my friends regular burger and it was truly huge! I barely finished mine and was stuffed. It was very tasty and filling. My friends shared a big burger and the lunch box which included two pieces of chicken and some fries.
We were all stuffed!
