The only time I come here is when I’m really feeling a dim sum fix and because I live close its easy. the foods not overly great and it’s pretty overly priced. The staff are also a bit hit and miss — some are lovely but some are really rude.

Been here a few times and it is true, each time it only gets worse. Not necessarily the food particularly, but the service. There is absolutely no courtesy nor welcome. They rush you over to a table, pointing you in the direction. Once seated, they chuck the plates and cutlery on the table and walk off and you basically tidy it up and lay up your own table. The dim sum trolley is inconsistent, coming round to some tables, missing others. The faces of the staff showed dismay and intolerance and rather you did not eat there at all so they need not do any work. Other staff if not on trolley, sat and gathered at the far end, like a private chat corner, rather then anticipating needs of customers and attending to the floor. The special orders from the menu during our lunch did not turn up after half an hour. Upon asking if the orders are turning up? The manager, sulky looking middle aged woman, yelled at s asking if we had ordered! Of course you silly nut, why then would we be asking if our orders are turning up soon? Then she glared at us, frowning, stomped off, and returned a short time later telling us it is being done now. No apology. Count yourself lucky they even let you in to have a meal. They behave like they are the last restaurant in Perth and we have no where else to go to. Shame on Yum Cha House. Never go there ever again.

Great spot for cheap and authentic yum cha. We came on a Saturday and the little carts were out and about with a great selection of all your classic yum cha dishes like har gow, shumai and cha siu bao and a bunch of other great ones like the taro dumplings, stuffed crab claw, rice noodle rolls and egg tarts. For 7 of us we each paid about $ 18 and left completely stuffed, so there’s definitely great value here!

What an awesome little place and a great experience. Being completely culturally defunct I had no idea what was going on but it was a great experience and the food was fabulous! Very cheap and very fast! A great little spot I think I will be adding to my list of regular lunch spots!

Yum! Took boyfriend and his family for their first real dim sum experience here. After over 10+ dishes, the cost was only $ 90 for the 4 of us. Having never been here before, speaking Cantonese really helped. The staff was very accommodating and recommended all of their favorites. Anytime I asked for something I didn’t find in the carts, they gladly put in a order for me. If you go to dim sum enough, you’ll learn that each dim sum place does some dishes excellently and the rest of the dishes are just plain normal. My favorites here are the Dofu Fa(sweet tofu flower soup — don’t forget to ask for spoons!) because of the light texture and not too sweet flavor and their Dan Tat(Egg Tart) because of its flakey pastry and good egg custard. They may sell you on getting both shrimp and scallop Shui Mai but I don’t think there’s much of a difference so just pick one and try some other dishes(like the beef rice rolls, deep fried crab claw balls, and chives dumplings). Xiao Long Bao(shanghai soup dumplings) was a bit disappointing as it didn’t have any soup in it but it was tasty nonetheless. 4 stars because it has good dim sum with friendly service, but not much that is special. However, this place does everything well enough and I’d recommend it as a regular dim sum joint to satisfy your Cantonese cravings.

Midweek yum cha or night time dim sum and no parking hassles? It’s not too good to be true. This is what Yum Cha House offers. It opened almost two years ago and has become one of the ardent outlets in the Collins Road precinct. The food is consistently fresh and made well. My yum cha staples of chicken’s feet and steamed rice rolls fit the bill just nicely. There isn’t a long wait between each trolley service and when it arrives there is a good range to choose from even during the peak of lunchtime dining. The staff are attentive and friendly. Empty serving plates vanish without you needing to say anything to make room for more food arriving and the tea always topped up. What more could you possibly want besides a second stomach?

I love this place! It says open at 9.30am on the door but we always come earlier and they are happy to seat and feed us, hehehe!!! The squid tentacles are my fav with lots of garlic and chilli! Also the food is super fresh in the morning and it’s quieter! Within the first few minutes of being here, a few more tables filled too!

Very fresh and tasty dim sum, fried rice and other dishes. They have great green tea, and importantly fantastic service. Will be back for more!!! I don’t have to drive to northbridge to get good dim sum now

Good and clean restaurant. Food was delicious. My favorites was chicken feet and the squid tentacles. I didn’t really like the bbq pork bun, i found it quite dry.
