POD

This is one of my all time favourite places. With all the choice available in this area these days I keep coming back. I desperately needed comfort today and it was like going to your favourite relatives place where they love you no matter what. The ever important coffee is amazing and my breakky delicious. Thank you POD.

I am conflicted about how I feel based on what I tasted.
I like that this is close to where I am and a nice stroll. The place had a nice vibe (the store is pretty quirky, the music is good and they were full to capacity by 10am on a Sunday morning too).
I purchased two things. Not because I was ridiculously hungry but because I thought I was hungrier than just rice pudding.
I got the poached eggs, thick cut bacon, mushrooms and baked beans thing. This was beyond average. I can’t believe it was $ 18 for essentially five separate things on a plate (when you add the toast). Nothing had flavour, and I was salting my meal like a Dane. Average, average, average.
It also still left me hungry unfortunately.
I decided to get the rice pudding too. That was much better but not exceptional. The poached fruit was excellent, the pistachios were sparse but also good. The rice pudding wasn’t the best I’d ever had but also wasn’t the worst.

POD is the perfect spawn of Post Industrial Design. The front part of the shop has been converted into a café and it’s pumping! Fresh delicious food and all your local designer shopping needs in one spot.
