I will admit that I’m not here for the coffee; I look to this and other cafes for a quick breakfast usually. The food items that First Pour has I like, but they are limited in scope and they don’t always have a ton of them. I did really like their chia pot; a filling and healthy cup that I needed on that particular day. The setting, if not on the water, is nice. A large warehouse-style space with two levels of seating and plenty of room to spread out. It seems largely popular with the biking crowd. Can’t vouch for their main product, but I find them useful as an occasional stop.

Lovely coffee and beautiful people, I have found COFFEEMECCA! Today I had the most rich and creamiest coffee I’ve ever had in the time I’ve lived in Brisbane. The care and skill of the barista is what I expect from a real coffee house. Made where you can see. You shouldn’t be disappointed with this place! I also had a egg and bacon muffin, reasonably priced at $ 6.95; could do with cheese though. I cannot wait until I can come here again, keen for some of the breakfast meals next time!

Coffee is awesome here. I go everyday and always have an English breakfast tea to start with, and follow up with a cappuccino. Service is great from the staff, and the upstairs is a great place to sit up there and do some work by yourself, otherwise sit outside undercover for a business meeting. They have stopped serving food from the kitchen, but that shouldn’t deter people from coming along to have coffee there. Great place!

I love this place, I wish I worked near here because this place would become my instant office. Being the head office for Veneziano in Brisbane you expect the best and get it pretty much consistently every time. They do have an eftpos minimum which is a bit frustrating but beyond that its a great location, awesome loft area to sit at and if your lucky you can see through the window to the roasters working their magic. Wifi and slightly better air con would make this place even better but their coffee and service is good enough to ignore that.

These guys really know their coffee. Expect a great drop and quality beans. You can purchase more online as well. There’s a nice café area and out the back is the warehouse. They also run classes for those wanting to learn more about the fine art of coffee making.

Ok so I have a confession to make — I visited this place without actually ordering/consuming a coffee. I know, sacrilegious huh? But in my defence, all I wanted was something sugary sweet. And the chocolate brownie with chunks of white chocolate and pecan did not disappoint. Aside from sweets, they also have a fairly large selection of pre-made sandwiches, rolls and foccacias as well as a selection of five different coffee blends to choose from. And if you want to create your own brew at home, they sell a variety of beans and grinds you can take with you. This light airy warehouse features large wooden tables to share your coffee and morning paper with other caffeine-addicts. Or, if you’re not a morning person/are after a little more privacy, then you can head up to the mezzanine level and recline in a wicker chair surrounded by overhead star-shaped lights. Veneziano also hosts barista training sessions, latte art classes and sell a variety of coffee related equipment — from Chemex machines, to filter paper and mugs. Well worth a pit-stop if you find yourself bang-smack in the middle of Montague Road.

A cool roaster/café nestled among the factories on West End’s Montague Rd, lending an industrial chic vibe. Their various blended and single origin coffee roasts have won numerous awards and their baristas have also attained various accolades — always a good indicator of a quality café. Given their reputation I often opt for a variety unadulterated by milk, like a long macc or short black. The Forza blend(95% Arabica + 5% Robusta) is very well balanced, giving a lasting mouth-feel without bitterness and tangible citrus notes. Some food is available with a cabinet displaying a range of wraps, paninis as well as some sweets. They also occasionally do deals offering a free small coffee when you buy a sandwich/wrap. Tea lovers might feel be left wanting — the tea comes in bags(albeit the fancy muslin ones) and not loose leaf. But coffee lovers should definitely try out this award winning coffee provider.
