The café is going through growing pains as it struggles to find out what it does well. There are no complaints as the food is all good and reasonably priced but the one variable that is variable is the service — it is clear that there are owners and workers. This difference means the experience is very different depending on who you are interacting with. Enough said. I am sure this will work itself out over the long run. The real gem is the location. They have an outdoor patio on Mary Ann street that gets lots of sun in the afternoon but there are umbrellas if you want shade. And the beer selection is small but great — they serve Batch beer. The types change with whatever they receive from the microbrewery in Marrickville so you know it is fresh. The big bottles are $ 14 — enough for 2 big glasses. Of course the $ 5 draft beers at 5pm are a cheaper alternative and they have a great selection including Asahi and a James Squire beer among others. The only caveat is that they might close early on weekdays when classes at UTS are not in session so you could be disappointed early in the week if you are wanting an after work beer! I am definitely a fan and I think it will get even better over time.

Food is fairly good, especially salt and pepper callimari and platters. Service on evenings is average… trying to be a bar with menu food but want to give table service for both… satisfying neither. Room for improvement.
