Always fun discovering a new spot in Sydney. Friendly service good food(menu was a little limited –not sure if that was due to the aroma festival being on). Very good selection of drinks. I stopped in for a drink last night and the had a very good piano player.

The amount of times I have walked past this place on the way to and from work is probably more to count. I’ve always looked in the window fairly enviously of the people drinking cocktails and wine. Finally a friend of mine and I decided to try it and we were not disappointed! Thursday night $ 12 signature cocktails from 5pm — 7pm is something you can’t really go wrong with. It wasn’t particularly crowded that night but I bet it would get busy on Fridays and Saturdays. The evening ambience was trendy and casual, after work drinks and a couple of what looked like first dates. My friend and I shared the 4 for $ 40 sharing plates. The crispy chicken was so tender it basically melted in your mouth, the potatoes with shaved serrano were also a great alternative to fries or wedges and the cheese of the day was fresh and pungent(like all good cheeses). The Push would be a great place to start a night out or just for quiet weekday cocktails and wine with friends.

Came here on a Wed afternoon when the crown was minimal. Staff was friendly suggesting beers. You order at the bar and sit anywhere. Dress code is casual. Ambiance is casual. 1. Nachos — sweet, spicy, fresh. It has all those flavors and can be split by two. It comes in a 9 inch bowl with enough ingredients to make you two full. Coupled with a tap beer and you won’t go wrong. 2. Calimari — thick cut and little amount of batter. Also to be shared but it can be conquered by one peraon. The sauce is like honey mustard and it comes with a lemon. Overall it was enjoyable. 3. Feral hop hog beer — smells like grapefruit and tastes hoppy. It’s one of the tap craft beers. Delicious on a hot day but actually any type of day. Overall, I’d come back for more or for a quick bite.

We didn’t try their food, but we did try their alcohol, which was predictably good, provided you order the same as us. Old people galore, which is perfect for semi-seniors like ourselves.

Nice little gastro pub. Had the $ 25 set lunch. Nice salad followed by a steak. Nicely prepared, and speed of service was good. I would recommend here for a quick lunch.

Wow. This place sure overcame its growing pains in a hurry. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen such a turn around. From overcooked ‘roo during their opening month to perfectly seasoned, juicy, grilled chicken — The Push has come a long way. I preferred the old hand cut wedges(now their own menu item) to the current well seasoned chips that come as a side, but everything else has improved. Vastly. Beer selection remains a stand out in the area — with Little Creatures, White Rabbit, and Heineken where you’d usually find Squire or Matilda Bay. Hats off to ya, Push. You’ve earned your keep.

The Push… a nicely furnished and cosy gastropub/cocktail bar serving little plates of pleasing fare from fried chicken to a selection of sliders. It could have been perfect if not for the complete and utter disconnection from customer service in fact the staff looked particulary bored despite a full house. I will not recommend based on that alone get the service right and this place would be a real treat. So close but so far

peaceful quiet atmosphere with quality bar food. chicken salad, reuben plate and cocktail selection were excellent. wide variety of cocktail options. definitely a great price for what you get. only thing to keep in mind is that you order at the bar rather than having waitress service. definitely would recommend this place.

Needed a quick bite late evening on the weekend and ducked into this little joint. Great list of cocktail options and chill bar vibe, food was ok – however, nothing that I would specifically return for.

We got to Sydney on a rainy day, so we decided to stay close to our hotel and grab a drink until the rain settled. My husband ordered a beer while I ordered a savignon blanc. The one I ordered was not in stock, so the bartender advised she had a similar one. It was refreshing, though a little sweeter than expected. It’s a convenient spot below my hotel with friendly staff, so no complaints there. On the other hand, nothing really stands out about this place outside of the convenience factor(so far).
