Tuesday… always a hard Decision for lunch but for a pick me up on a cold afternoon I’ve chosen wisely at wagamamas! Priced at $ 20 or a lunch special bento box at $ 15 it’s a good choice ! The service is always great and the no fuss approach suits people on the go ! I will return to this great restraint and would recommend it to anyone needing a good feed or pick me up during the week ;)

Oh Wagamama, how have you fallen? Wagamama was born as a reliable restaurant for pan asian cuisine but in a city full of delicious and more authentic places to eat the least you could do is provide good service. I was pretty disappointed with the food and the waitstaff on my last visit. The chicken teriyaki bento had very salty chicken, overcooked sweet potato chips, and bland miso. It tasted like the McDonalds version of Japanese. My husband was equally unimpressed by him ramen: more watery than brotthy. On top of this we were snubbed by the manager after she refused to take out Entertainment Book voucher. Seriously will not be going back.

Wagamama has locations all over the world, and like big chains — all with the same trusty menu. English born, with Japanese styling, the cuisine is quite Asian fusion: the menu sporting curries, stir fries and noodle dishes. I have always felt that the food was a little inauthentic, particularly given the awesome Japanese, thai, Korean, etc, that you can get in Sydney, but this light, open and airy wagamama location gives a bit more ambiance than the dark Galeries food court downstairs. Plenty of stuff to choose from on the menu, and all quite healthy. I always love one of their fresh juices, and today I’m having the only vegan dish listed on the current menu — spicy tofu itame(though they can do the ramen noodles and the yasi yaki soba noodles vegan on request). Several vegetarian dishes to choose from, as well as the standard meat dish offerings.
