The different meats one would have in a B.B.Q. were all very tasty. There was a large variety of different Korean offerings from the self-serve area. I noticed there were a lot of locals of all ages. This place seems to appeal to all.

I’ve never been here for their BBQ, but came here a handful of times for $ 10 lunch buffet when I lived in Sydney. I guess I never felt compelled to come here for a full on BBQ because for that, I had Se Jong and Yass. In saying that, Shinara’s lunch buffet is pretty impressive –please feel free to let me know if they still have it!-. The deal is simple. You enter and head straight upstairs, where the big boss is at the register. They only accept cash, by the way, and the lunch buffet is on during certain hours. As you make the payment, they will hand you a plate and a bowl. You can grab some tissues at the register if you need napkins, because there would be none on the tables. The selections are, again, pretty impressive and varied, and they have everything from steamed rice, fixings to make your own bibim rice, bulgogi, basic but tasty side dishes including kimchi, kimbab –Korean sushi-, sweet & sour pork, fried chicken, and fruits and other desserts. As you can see from my pictures, I tend to stick to my few favourites, namely rice, basic side dishes, some meats, and korean sushi with spicy rice cake. I’m a sucker for AYCE and self service, and Shinara’s lunch buffet worked for me because what they did have on offer, they did well, often as good as you’d expect if you were at a Korean restaurant or a snack shop and ordered individual dishes for full regular prices. All in all, I would recommend their $ 10 lunch buffet meal.

We arrived at 440 pm and the hostess/cashier said we can stay until 6 pm for the lunch price($ 13). You can get a big bowl of soup on the burner at your table if there are more than 2 in your party. The fried chicken is to die for and so was the bulgogi. Overall the variety was plentiful and each dish tasty and perfect for the price. Drinks are extra charge. I would definitely come back.

Certainly, the food & price were decent. However, service was very poor. We went there quite late(a hour before closing) asking the cashier should we get in. His answer was«YES.» Eventually, they started to clear the buffet line after we took a seat, and we were urged to pick some foods. Moreover, the pork was all gone, and they denied to add more. Seriously, this is BBQ restaurant, and they ran out of pork !!! Not only our table that was in that horrible situation, but also others who arrived after us !

Cheap all you can eat buffet Korean bbq is not something you usually go to and usually cheap places with buffet or all you can eat have lower quality ingredients for you to cook from. This place is quite ok considering its cheap price. The price is cheap being $ 21 for dinner and being able to eat as much as you can but with a time limit of how long you can stay(during busy periods). I have been here a few times in the last couple of years and recently a few weeks ago. When I go here I think it’s usually packed even on a Monday night. The food they have here are good enough and good for the price you pay. And of course it will depend on how you cook it as this is a bbq place. I find the quality of the meat and seafood quite good but you would get better quality at other bbq restaurant. The grapes they have are good as I ate a lot of grapes after having enough meat and seafood. You would come here if you want to eat a lot and to pay cheap price for bbq. If you want better quality ingredients to cook from, you would go to other non-buffet places or to more expensive all you can eat bbq places.

I’ve been going to their unlimited Korean dinner BBQ since I moved to Sydney nearly 3 years ago. Food is CHEAP and PLENTIFUL! It used to be $ 18 a person for the eat all you can… now $ 21 a person. A 3 dollar price increase over the past 3 years? Ah well… it’s still a nice, good buffet. There is a LOT of food on offer for grillin’ — different slices of beef and pork, chicken, even gizzard and octopus. Besides the meats, they also have other dishes on offer — potato wedges, plain and fried rice, mussels, fried chicken, noodles, soup, fruit, etc… and the food is pretty good! With a lot of buffet places, most of the non-grillable food is so/so… but this one is actually good. Definitely a place to go to if you’re ravenous. Drinks are extra and cost $ 3 for a can of soda.(Water is free.) Funnily enough, they control the plates you can use. We were a group of 3 and given 5 plates and 3 bowls, if we wanted more plates, we had to pay a dollar extra… so make sure to plan how to use your plates! They have signs up against wastage and that meals are timed for 1.5 hours, though the owner has said they only implement it if they’re busy. If they’re not busy, you can eat as long as you want. And the wastage is for people who pile oodles of food on their plate and leave it behind… if you have the odd pile of food left it’s no problem. Beware though, as with most Korean BBQ places your clothes can get pretty smelly from the smoke. But if you love the smell of meat, I guess this isn’t necessarily a bad thing…

Tucked away upstairs behind a trendy modern style Korean café is an all you can eat carnivorous paradise or a vegetarian’s nightmare. As a carnivore, for a little more than $ 20 you are granted access to unlimited amounts of food and BBQ fun! The buffet includes ready to eat hot foods such as fried chicken, jap chae, bulgogi, pancake as well as cold foods such as kimchi and sushi. The best part however, is the raw meat selection and seafood which is to be cooked by you on the hot gas BBQ until the meat satisfies your perception of perfection. After many trips back and fourth from the buffet to the table, you will become sick of the large portions of meat as your inner vegetarian eventually comes out. You may also need to pop loose a jean button as willpower does not work against the quantity if tasty food at Shinara. Please also be aware of the following when dining here: –Do not go here on a date, you will feel bloated after visiting and will also smell like the BBQ pork which also exists in your stomach after dining –As even your underwear will smell like BBQ after do not wear your best outfit –Do not waste copious amounts of food. obviously for the environment’s sake but also due to the mentioned in writing $ 15 charge per a person if excessive waste exists –This restaurant is not recommended for vegetarians due to the lack vegetables available and also due to the possibility that a vegetarian could ruin the carnivorous experience.

I came across this little café/restaurant sort of hybrid the other day while having a stroll along Pitt Street, and wandered in on a whim. It seemed vaguely Japanese, and they were offering a $ 10 buffet lunch. I pounced like a ravenous tiger, of course. I decided to have a coffee(given that I was, yet again, hungover) before eating, just to perk me up a little. Oh, it was delicious. It took a while in coming(for which the waiter apologized sincerely and profusely, so I forgave him), but it was well worth it. $ 4 for a thick, creamy, rich Caramel Mocha is money well-spent, I assure you. The only downside; it satisfied me so much that I didn’t need to bother with the buffet lunch! PS: The abundance of Japanese people and complete lack of every other ethnicity at this café(except for me and my date) was a little disconcerting at first. but then it starts to feel like you’re a fly on the wall in a foreign culture, which is a little exciting.
