This place is a childhood chocolate fantasy come true. Its like Willy Wonka himself advised on the fit out of this place. I was looking for the oompah lumpas to come poppin out of the back. If you like chocolate, and you should!, this place is for you. They have the best hot cocoa, melt in your mouth brownies, slabs of chocolate in all forms. They are best known for their Chocolate Fondue. Don’t miss this molten pot of melted chocolate with all kinds of cool stuff to dip into it with. Its not the cheapest experience, but well worth the extra $$. For kids they have these giant tubes running throughout the restaurant that appear to be transporting massive amounts of milk and dark chocolate from the front of the restaurant to the back, which is a pretty impressive illusion to behold. Never had anything from these guys that I did not love. Be careful with the molten stuff, it is the shirt seeking variety, that stains, so you will be forced to wear your badge of shame into the Event Theater if not careful…

I’ve been here once before and I’m not a big fan of chocolate beverages, but ordered coffee anyway. It was okay, at best. Tonight I returned: walked in to order, waited for no one in particular to serve. Unsure whether to order coffee here again, I waited a bit then walked to the door. Flip-flopping, I went back to the counter, but ended up waiting long enough again to have time to change my mind. Tonight, I’m trusting my gut instinct and not ordering coffee here again. Neither the caffeinated beverage or service were that good. Tip to the non-uniformed owner/manager: either serve or make coffees, but don’t switch between both. Clearly confusing for your staff, inefficient and not helpful for customers who can’t get served. That’s operations 101.

I enjoyed a chocolate soufflé here and it was delicious. Service was friendly and prompt. I’ll come back again.

Max Brenner is a chocoholics dream with pipes that run through the ceiling of milk and dark chocolate. The venue is chocolate chocolate chocolate on each and every corner. The café offers plenty of options such as cakes, waffles, hot chocolate, coffee, teas and chocolate fondue sets but to name a few things. The hot chocolates on offer are of a good standard but my favourite thing to order is the White Chocolate Chai. The White Chocolate Chai arrives out pipping hot in a tea infuser. You place the infuser over your mug and push to release the flavours. The White chocolate blends beautifully with the chai leaves and offers a couple of mugs worth which is great. The hot chocolates are good here too but I have had better in other café’s so usually wouldn’t order it from here. They are famous for the waffles which just don’t do it for me. A little over priced I feel and that’s the same for the chocolate fondue. With that said I think they offer plenty of dessert options and generally is something for everyone on the menu. The café also has a shop that sells a range of chocolate related products such as fondue sets, mugs, chocolate flakes, waffles and many chocolates. The staff take a really strong front in regards to selling the products they offer which is great to see. Their knowledge and enthusiasm is awesome and the lady we encountered knew the history of the company as well as its extensive range. Great option in Bondi for a pre or post event cinema snack or drink.

We are big dark chocolate lovers and this place didn’t let us down. One hot chocolate and salted caramel dark chocolate tort. Oh my!!! Be forewarned that it will be difficult to make choices here… everything looks and smells delicious.

I’ve dined many times at Max Brenner and most items are very good! I ordered the crêpe recently and it was tasty. The crêpe has a soft texture but inside has a surprising crunch of cookies which added a special element to them. I also recommend the hot chocolate but to add these crunchy malteeser like balls inside. It really adds another dimension… And the soufflé = volcanic chocolate explosion as soon as you put your spoon in there. A surprising sweet and sour drink which is fruit based is called the pink granita! This is a very sour, very sweet passion fruit based frappé which can really wake up your taste buds!(I’ve clearly tried the whole menu haha). This café is located below ithe cinema in the Westfield so can get quite busy right before or after a movie ends.

My first time in a legitimate chocolate shop and it was as decadent as you can imagine. A definite stop while in Sydney because… do you really need an excuse?

We got some melted milk chocolate and strawberries… Chocolate was great, but could have used some larger strawberries. We will definitely go back for some more!

Most places would be pretty quiet at 8.30pm on a Sunday — just not Max Brenner! Being located under the Bondi Junction Event Cinema doesn’t do busy any harm either I can imagine — it seems like a good pre or post movie spot. Now I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, thus I had not been here before I went along for a friend’s birthday. It’s definitely an experience and if you like chocolate, well, there’s really no reason not to love this place! Even as a non-plussed chocolate consumer, I thought this place was great. More from a concept point of view and the way it was laid out more than the opportunity to send myself into a sugar crash. I bypassed the chocolate pizzas and the fondue that would undoubtedly cause me to spend the next 4 weeks running back and forth to work, and just went with the Italian Thick Hot Chocolate(because that was SO much healthier!) — $ 6. The table service was remarkably slow, and the girl who was serving us spilt a rather hot chocolate on a couple of our fellow gorgers(yeah, that went down well!), but when it finally did arrive, it was certainly chocolatey! So it passed that test. Some of the other treats that were adorning the table were pretty impressive creations, but definitely things to share for fear of getting a little sick. If you’re into your chocolate, I’m sure you’ll be in heaven, but if you’re like me and don’t mind it every now and then, it’s fun just to pop in and give it a try!

There is nothing like a hot chocolate and I can make a really good hot chocolate and I don’t use powdered chocolate, I melt actual chocolate. But I have to admit defeat, because I cannot make a hot chocolate like the Italian Thick Chocolate I had at Max Brenner in Bondi Westfield today, I stared at the menu for I don’t know how long, trying to decide between the Italian and the Danish Toffee Chocolate, and I would still like to try the Danish, but the Italian was Chocolate Heaven. It was so rich I felt a little bit sick afterwards, but it was absolutely worth it, I don’t think I have ever tried another hot chocolate, which comes anywhere close. I think I might have to indulge in one of the Sundays there one day, they look pretty special, but they had better be at $ 13.50 each, for now the Hot Chocolate is more than enough to keep me satisfied. Max Brenner, you should be worshipped.
