I was excited. I don’t do east. But Churwas coming to town. And the reviews are all rave reviews. The meat is awesome. Perfect fat burger fare. A tonne of meat cooked medium and moist and rich. Win. Not a burger bun is awesome too. But you have to eat it. So much Mayo. Didn’t know that was a thing. It will go everywhere. The first time I thought it was cause I got a double(had to eat it as two half burgers). Next time I got a single. Still drowning in Mayo. Go to the burger project at MLC — the parties aren’t as nice, but the food is better. No comment on ambience — it is in a food court!

Juicy, marinated chicken pieces with chopped lettuce and mild«hot sauce» mayo dripping out from the soft, slightly sweet buns — this burger was the perfect guilty pleasure to indulge in. I set out on my daily lunch expedition in search of a healthy wholegrain vegetarian burger. Having cravings for the perfect fake-looking hamburger bun, I thought Churburger’s chickpea burger would offer that comprise between healthy and a little bit naughty. I initially ordered the chickpea burger but they didn’t have any left — before 1pm! So I ordered a chicken burger instead and when I saw what it looked like — i knew this was my super naughty cheat meal gone for the week(or at least, weekday lunches)! Looked salivating, tasted amazing. For $ 10, I wish there were more! Although it was a lot more filling than what it looked like. 4 stars but 1 star off for the fat-creating, artery-clogging factor.

Uh oh. Chur burger moved into my work ‘hood. Thankfully, the line is enough of a deterrent for me most days as the burgers here are just as good as you’ll get at their Surry Hills location. They’ve even got the Kaitai Fire hot sauce to take those babies to the next level. Add on a side of perfectly fried chili salt chips(a serve can easily be shared between 2 – 3 people) and you’re in junk food heaven. And that line I mentioned moves pretty quickly. It only took me about 15 minutes from arrival until I had my food in hand. I’m just impatient. One new addition to the menu that I had to try after having it constantly pop up in my Twitter feed for weeks was the Mr Moustache Iced Coffee. Loved it. I need to source other distributors or that stuff. I keep trying to get hungover enough during the week to justify trying out their breakfast burger, but have so far been unsuccessful. Short term goals are important.
