I was surprised but they actually had really excellent fish and chips here. The best I had and we’ve been thru New Zealand and most of Australia. Very surprising out of such a touristy restaurant!

Cocktail lunch… it’s the best value for money going! The service is second to none and feeling like a celebrity makes you very hungry and thirsty! It’s more of a ‘you get what you pay for’ experience! Food was amazing, cocktails were amazing and free flowing as was the bubbles and service! I’m coming back and bringing more friends!!!

This café/restaurant is located in the Intercontinental Sydney hotel and has an old European feel in décor and elegant dishes. The buffet is beautifully arranged and I find it hard to believe anyone could not find various items they loved. Fresh made breads, salads, desserts and hot entrees galore provide way too many selections :-) You can tell the chef loves using local market fresh ingredients to enhance the dining experience of their guests.

Café Opera offer a vast buffet breakfast. There is a selection of hot breakfast foods such as eggs, bacon, hash browns, Chinese dumplings, congee, char siu bao, waffles, plus much much more. Also cereals, fruits, yoghurt, juices, cold meats and cheeses, and a fantastic selection of breads and pastries. One of the best hotel buffet breakfasts I have had. The coffee is so-so and definitely don’t order soy milk. In this instance I would opt for an espresso or a pot of tea. The Lunch and Dinner buffet is similarly spectacular. Again, a vast selection of food including hot foods — meats(roast, ribs, fish), roast/cooked vegetables, soup, pasta, rice, and cold foods — oysters, mussels, prawns, crab, salads, cold meats, sushi rolls, too much to name. And then there’s the desserts — macaroons, various bite sized sweeties, slices, mousse, etc. So good and yet so bad(for the waistline)!! They offer Pre Theatre Dining(5:30−7:00pm) as well as regular lunch and dinner. The service is great and staff are very polite. I would definitely recommend particularly if you are staying at the Intercontinental Hotel.
