Karaōke is the best thing ever created. But nuh uh. Not in this place. Love singing, love music. This place just isn’t up to standard for me. They have variety of songs which is a good thing, however the system is kinda sluggish and old. An upgrade is in need! The sound system is so-so, nothing to complain for that. Other than that, i’m happy that I got to Sing for just $ 12. But c’mon you can do better than that.

I am no closet karaōke lover. I love singing and dancing and quite frankly probably looking rather silly at times in order to provide entertainment for my dear friends that have spent countless hours locked away in a big echo karaōke room. Whilst it can’t really compare to the buffet + ensuited karaōke rooms of Asia, in Sydney nothing beats big echo for a cheap singing fix. There’s a wide variety of songs(I even found a Christian one in there last night which amazed me) and generally they are quite up to date with the latest English and Chinese songs. The newer English songs even have the actual music video in the background so we can stop watching clips from the 1980’s of women walking around a fountain with big boofy hair and oversized bright clothing. So I’ve always taken full advantage of the happy hour sessions where you can sing for 3hrs plus get a free drink for $ 12/pp but yesterday I was happy to discover that there are now«all you can sing» sessions where you can sing for up to 8hrs for $ 12/pp. BARGAIN!!! The only catch is it’s for a minimum of 5 people. Looks like I better get cracking at finding 4 others and buying some soothers to take in with me. Oh and looks like I can finally successfully hold my Jay Chou karaōke marathon and get through his 11 albums in one karaōke session: p
