Looks better than it tasted. It was nice that you could pay for 1 salad and get a takeaway box mixed of several salads. So I got 3. Wouldn’t go back again because they weren’t that good. Baked items looked boring & not that good, either.

I am vegetarian so I ordered spicy lentils with pumpkin and sun dried tomato with couscous. After eating few spoons I noticed some weird looking piece so I ask the one of the staff and she said its chicken and the explanation I got was that it’s because the containers are close. I would have appreciate if the would have mentioned it upfront. So if you are vegetarian then I don’t recommend this place.

Thanks Salad Bar. We’ve been taking our reusable containers to your establishment for the last couple of weeks now and you have kindly filled them up with your lovely salad and not given us any funny looks. So we keep on coming back.

I love, love, love, love, love this place. The biggest best value and best variety salad bar I’ve come across in Sydney. This place rocks. You can choose from about ten different prepared salads, select some varieties off the menu or create your own by selecting from the huge selection of ingredients and all for between $ 6 — $ 10 depending on the size and type of salad you get. This place rocks. I opt for a medium size salad with the persian rice salad(AMAZING), beetroot and lentils salad and chicken and avocado. YUM. There’s also a great range of wraps and pastas if you are looking for something more substantial. For the snackers there’s containers of nibbles and treats, yoghurts, as well as salad sticks(carrot and celery) which you can buy alongwith little pots of hummous. Such great value, fast service and just plain yum.

Its well branded, its well located, its busy and it checks many of the boxes. But you know what? My salad was pretty average. I ordered a large tuna salad. it was good value at under 10 bucks but I found it slightly boring. This probably had something to do with the fact that it had no hard boiled egg thrown in. This is normally a crucial ingredient and I only learned of it not being available well after I had placed my order when one of the assistants told another customer that they were out of egg. I should have revised my order at that point, but it should never have gotten to that. The salad arrived and there was no problem with the size. It was a generous portion, but without much dressing, egg or any other exciting ingredients it really wasn’t anything special. Maybe it was a one off and it looks like it is very popular so I’m sure its worth a second chance. It does ‘do it yourself’ salads and pastas which is quite nice for fussy eaters. It is also a free Wi Fi zone which can be a big attraction

This popular Surry Hills lunchtime spot keeps people coming back with its quick, fresh food and reasonable prices. Choose from a selection of salads, pastas or wraps and you’ll have a healthy lunch for no more than $ 10. My pick is always the Spicy Beef Wrap($ 6.50) and the freshly squeezed Orange and Passionfruit Juice($ 3.50). There are also healthy nibble options available for those afternoon cravings like celery and carrot sticks with hummus. The lesser known fact about Salad Bar is that is does excellent coffee($ 2.50)! Trust me, try it if you’re not willing to wait twenty minutes at one of the neighboring cafes.
