I’ve always found Café Di Luna overpriced for its generic range of café food so I try to avoid it on principal. If you work out this way, they do have some reasonably priced lunch specials such as the $ 13 steak, chips and salad. However, as a dinner option I wouldn’t recommend paying between $ 20 -$ 30 for lamb cutlets or pesto chicken penne that you can probably make better at home. Due to its late night opening hours, I do come out here occasionally for cake and coffee. Just last night, my husband and I came out for cappuccinos, lemon meringue tart and pecan pie. The pecan pie was probably the best with its nutty flavours combined with a caramelised sweetness. My lemon meringue tasted stale and both our coffees were weak. We paid $ 20 for this average treat. Café Di Luna must be doing something right as they’ve been an institution of Sunnybank Plaza for about fifteen years. One of these days, I’ll find out what it is but in the meantime, I’ll continue to avoid it like the plague.
