I took a level 1 Spanish class at IML for 12 months and have enjoyed it very much. Due to my busy work schedule I did not select the «6 months twice a week» option and went for the «12 months once a week» alternative instead.
This option allowed me to include the Spanish class on Wednesday evenings into my weekly schedule and gave me enough time to work through homework on the weekend. The teacher was very good and made sure to keep her classes interesting for absolute novices as welll as students who had some existing knowledge in Spanish. In my case it definitely helped that I knew some French already! The class was quite full at the beginning (more than 20) but stabilised at around 10 students after a couple of weeks, which was a very good class size to study in.
Overall it was a great experience and I was able to improve my Spanish thanks to the excellent teacher, the right mix of repeating prior course content and adding new materials every week as well as dedicating some time each week to do the homework. Unfortunately I haven’t had time to start a level 2 course yet but am eager to do so in the future. For me IML was the exact right choice.

My boyfriend takes Russian classes here and enjoys them well enough. Unfortunately, the tutors are a mixed bag – some good, some not-​so-​good – but, the classes are structured well.
The good thing about IML is that their classes cater to adults who work during the day and can only come to class during the evening. They also offer a huge number of languages – around 30 – but if studying one of the less-​popular languages, you may not find classes at your level.
A year-​long course will set you back around $ 460, with classes based on the university semester.
Not a bad place to study a language, but for me studying French, I think I’d prefer Alliance Francaise for their broader range of classes.
