First Sipz just sprang forth from the ether one day. One day it wasn’t there and then the next it was. So we deviated from the usual coffee place one day and never went back. This tiny little shoe box of a coffee shop has a handful of tables inside, a surprisingly well-stocked magazine rack(GQUSA, thanks much?), and a few more tables outside. The stereo is well-manned(«Gimme Shelter», anyone?) and the coffees are a ridiculously low $ 2.50 during the special periods, which is generally unbeaten for St Leonards. They also do a very solid breakfast deal with that grand old chestnut, the bacon and egg roll. With BBQ sauce, of course. The staff are extremely warm and friendly and will memorise your order after two visits. Given the small space of the café, we would often hang out on the steps outside and the staff always brought our orders over, which was extremely appreciated. Honestly, the grind of a work day can sometimes become unassailable right around 10am on certain days and having a warm, cheerful and cheap place like this was something to both look forward to and to give you a little kick along the way.
