The Blue Fig

This restaurant is Greek not Australian and the food quality is amazing. It’s just a simple café but the authenticity of the dolmades, feta and all ingredients is incredible. If you like Greek food, this is a must try!

They have only very recently opened so they still seemed to be ironing out some kinks. The waitresses and were friendly but seemed to lack experience and the hostess didn’t seem to be providing much guidance. I am pretty sure they took our order then forgot to put it in. When we asked how it was going after half an hour it took them a while to collect themselves and realise they missed it, they then comped us a free beer for it taking so long. The drink service was really slow despite the large number of waitresses for the small number of customers.
WHEN the food arrived it was really good. I had the signature fig, pear, and walnut salad. They have a nice selection of beer too.
If you have to go to the toilet I suggest you order some bread so you can leave a trail of bread crumbs to find your way back.
I think this place has a lot of potential. I would like to come back and see if they have sorted themselves out in about a month or so. If not they will be bound for mediocrity by only catching the opportunistic tourists.
