Had a nice experience from the time I arrived(free wifi) and was not rushed. Ordered the lunch special(with choice of starter, meal, beverage) Started with lamb kofta, followed by Melbourne super salad, complemented with a house red wine(it’s 5’oclock somewhere) it was just the right portions. its right off the Luna Park tram stop, you can’t go wrong — ask for Tamara

Came for a quick coffee and cake on Sunday arvo. Very disappointed seeing as it looks like such a great place. The cakes were stale and crumbling(proves my theory that they ALWAYS look better than they taste). We had to ask 3 times for ice cream and cream to go with them(which really was the only thing that saved them from being inedible) and the waitress only gave us 1 scoop of ice cream for 3 people? I ordered an ice coffee which was nice and came in a hipster mason jar. Overall I think their other food would be good– the pizzas did look good, but the service wasn’t great so not rushing to come back. Also super expensive! Over $ 30 for 3 cakes, 2 cokes and an ice coffee.

Impromptu stop for some dinner and not disappointed. Was looking for something quick and fresh and the woodfire pizza hit the spot. Decided on ½ vegetarian(pumpkin, pea, with sun dried tomatoes) and lamb with rocket, pinenuts and yogurt. I couldn’t decide which I liked best. One moment I thought the lamb, then I switched to the veg. The crust was super thin and crisp which is how I like it, and the Napoli sauce fresh as are all the ingredients. Fantastic location near the beach, Luna Park and The Palais so if you’re heading anywhere near there would highly recommend.

Meh. Location, location, location? This is St. Kilda, where you can get fantastic food pretty much anywhere to cater any budget and/or cuisine choice. Phamish is far from the top of my list. I’ve lived in St. Kilda for quite a number of years now, and know most of the restaurants pretty well, including Phamish. Unfortunately, I’m just not sold on it. Their customer service is generally low-level. I’m not sure if this is because of the large number of backpacker-types they hire as staff, or because this is a trendy business who can afford to have consistently snobby staff. Their food is relatively good, albeit slightly on the pricier scale for what you get. I have been through most of the menu, and the pizzas are a go-to item due to their consistency. The wine list is smallish(for St. Kilda) but good… although the mark-up on the bottles is seriously noted. If you visit, skip desert. There’s nothing they have that you can’t get better just down the road, while taking in some of that fantastic Acland St atmosphere :)

Great location just opposite luna park, the beach and palais theatre. This adds to the dining atmosphere partially if you get an outdoor table. Now onto the food. They focus mainly on breakfast. The options are endless with the usual breakfast items as well as the opportunity to customise your own. I went with this option. Poached eggs on sourdough with salmon and avocado. The eggs were poached to perfection and the side serves were substantial in size and fresh tasting. The service was also spot on, friendly and prompt. I will be back.

The menu is eclectic and the service top notch; even on a Sunday evening in Summer when St. Kilda is swarming with blonde Northern European back packers dancing to house.

The wine tasting is great and the drink selection magnificent, but they’d need to pull something out of the hat to compete in the fine food hub of Acland st and Jacka Blvd. I’m just not that big of a fan. To me Phamish represents the complete opposite of everything that is great about St Kilda. I love the hustle and bustle and atmosphere of Acland st, the views and layout of the cafes on Jacka Blvde. I don’t need, or want, a boring, empty, quiet restaurant away from it all. Brekky is great, drinks awesome, but Phamish just does not take advantage of its surroundings, the environment and the quirkiness of St Kilda. Too generically modern for me.

This is the perfect location in St Kilda to get away from the hustle and bustle of Acland and Fitzroy st, yet sti be in the midle of all the action. I like sitting out looking over Luna Park, and the beach on one of the outdoor tables. To be honest, it is otherwise just a regular café with good coffee, a nice wine selection, and a tasty modern Australian menu. They have a good happy hour from 4 – 7 with lots of drink specials, and its lovely to watch the sun go down here. The service is pretty speedy and friendly — and be sure to ask the staff for recommendations!

Phamish is a great little café/bar in a perfect location just over the road from Luna Park and the major tram stop before Acland Street. Phamish food & Wine bar offers an all day breakfast, as well as lunch and dinner. The cuisine is Modern Australian with a touch of Middle Eastern flavour. For breakfast I really love the Salmon Florentine; smoked salmon poached eggs and spinach on a bagel, topped with creamy hollandaise. Yum. They also offer happy hour everyday from 4pm — 7pm with $ 5 house wine and beer as well as $ 10 cocktails. Thought that wasn’t good enough? On Friday’s they offer wine tasting from Australia’s own vineyard in the Yarra Valley Yering Station as well as some other International brands. I have attended this a couple of times and the wine is always a great afterwork treat, easy way to get the party going on your way into the weekend.

I think Phamish is good because of its location. As it’s situated just that tiny bit further away from the hustle and bustle of Acland St, it means it’s a nice place to go and have a little red wine while still being able to enjoy views over St. Kilda and even a little bit of sea. They always seem relaxed there and it’s has a nice modern chic to it where the full bar means you can enjoy a nicer drink away from the crowds and actually be able to chill out for a while. They do play music there and the menu is perfect for when you want a hassle free meal with your afternoon drink. Will definitely be going back there as now with their WiFi I think I can hang there and have a drink and write on my computer.
